My wife and i just finished a vacation in the Poconos. We had to leave the resort but wanted to drag out our trip one extra day down in Lancaster county. Since I had spent a fortune on the resort I wanted the cheapest room possible for our one night extension. I pulled up some hotels in Denver and Morgantown... More

My wife and I have been staying at The Penn Amish Motel for almost 20 years and have NEVER had a bad experience with Bob and Purni the owners, or with any of the accommodations. We love being a few minutes walk from Renningers when the outdoor market opens in the wee hours of the morning on Sundays. We never felt... More

This is a simple little motel, nothing fancy but was a great place to stay. The rooms had a microwave and a refrigerator, also offered free wifi. Owners are very friendly. The locations was perfect, located close to the green dragon flea market, and just a short drive to other locations in Lancaster, such as Bird in Hand, and Lititzs.This... More

YES, people, Lancaster County, PA is really NOT Amish Country-----it is OLD ORDER MENNONITE country (distinguished by the black buggies as opposed to the great minority Amish GREY buggies. You want Amish Country go to Holmes County, OH!!!!! Just stayed for three nights and found the place to be clean, nice firm mattress, renovated bathroom and recently replaced carpet. Ok,... More

Sure it is cheap, but you really don't even get what you pay for. The sheets and towels were not really clean and the room felt unclean. Though it's cheap, the basics still needs to be in place to charge a fee. Note, this is far from Amish country.

If you are traveling to the Pennsylvania Dutch country, the Penn Amish is a great place to stay. It is not a fancy place, doesn't have the amenities of the big chains, but the rates are reasonable, clean comfortable rooms. The staff is Pa. Dutch oriented. Which means that they are friendly, very accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, glad to... More

This was a great inexpensive place to stay. It is what it is nothing fancy. We were traveling with 6 youths and we rented the family room for them - 3 double beds - perfect! The total bill was about $150 for 2 rooms, I've paid that for 1 room. I will return if I'm in the same circumstance again!

I appreciate that there are still some basic, low cost hotels around because I think hotels in general are WAY overpriced. When I'm on vacation or on an overnight trip, I can't see spending $100-$150 for just a bed to sleep in. We don't spend enough time in the room to need fancy amenities. As for this motel, the Pros:... More

My broither and I were looking for a reasonably priced, clean, no-frills place to sleep for a couple of nights while checking out flea markets and antique shops in the Adamstown area -- and found what we were looking for in the Penn Amish Motel (although there's nothing Amish about it.) The room (and bathroom) were very clean. The beds... More

Penn Amish Motel was clean, economically priced, and conveniently near restaurants. The lady at the desk was cheerful and nice. However. When we arrived, the outdoor temperature was in the teens. Despite our having a reservation, the room wall heater had not been turned on, and the room was unbelievably frigid. My husband and I huddled together on the floor... More
