Couderport is such a tiny town - and not a place easily accessed from the big city. Once there, though, you're greeted by people who remember to do business the right way. There's a true home town sense of wonderfulness. The West Gate Inn is one of those such businesses. Located on the main (and only) road through town -... More

This is the 3rd year our family has all stayed here...every other year over the past 6 years...it's a great place for the money and they take good care of us which can be up to 50 people...the place is a good price, clean and a good location for us. We keep going back each reunion and will continue to... More

Clean. Spacious. Staff was very friendly. We rode a motorcycle and they proactively let us put under cover. Basic hotel that would be rated a three by aaa or others I think. For us, it was a stop over spot on our way to the finger lakes. We would stay here again if we needed to be in Coudersport again.

The room was a nice size & clean. My view was very beautiful (I was in the annex building that allows smoking). Grounds were nice. The breakfast was severely lacking. It was basicly some orange drink (not juice) and two types of undercooked muffins. The noise from the shower in another person's room woke me up at 7am.

We stayed in the new building. Cons: the rooms are new though basic, and we changed room for 3 times for different reasons; not much choices for breakfast. Pros: the front desk guy is patient and helping with all the trouble, besides the hotel is located just by the river.

Staff pleasant but blasé.. Overall décor welcoming. Coffee terrible, watched staff pour fresh into old. Stayed two nights but left one day early due to extremely uncomfortable mattresses. They actually sank into a V when you laid down ( rm 166). In 50 yrs of traveling have never experienced that before. Front desk laughed when informed- this was a $87/nt... More

This is a great hotel. I stay here all the time when I am in Potter County on business. The hotel is very basic but clean and comfortable. The people who work here (front desk) are very professional and nice. The rooms have a refrigerator, comfy recliner, flat screen TV, large bathroom and I always get a King bed. They... More

I stay in 40 hotels a year for the past 8 years and this was the first that did not provide shampoo. Called front desk to get some and was treated very poorly. Was made to go to front desk and get it myself even though there were two employees working. They treat like they have no competition and that... More

Clean! Large room! Huge bathroom! Friendly people! Great bed! Intriguing "find" as it is so rough around the edges. By that, I mean the bathroom counter, for example, is made from plywood underneath. But, that does not detract from the overall comfort of the space. What I really appreciated was the fact that the room was fairly free of ads... More

The hotel is in the same category as a Hampton Inn: large, comfortable and clean rooms with an excellent mattress and top quality bed linens. A big plus is that the main building is completely non-smoking, a welcome relief. The windows also open up to let in fresh air. Now the negatives: Shirley, the general manager, is not a very...
