We had no problem finding River's Edge from the trail. We were riding from Cumberland and this was our first stop on the Great Allegheny Passage. Check in was actually pretty easy - we just walked into the restaurant, let someone know we were checking in and the owner walked us over to the Loft. We were given a key... More

We were two couples doing the GAP trail from Pittsburgh to Cumberland. This was a nice B&B located very close to the trail. We stayed in the small house adjacent to the River's Edge Cafe where we had dinner. After a day of riding it was perfect. Still in our bike clothes, we could relax on the deck of lawn... More

It seemed perfect: A little Inn on the river, just off the bike path. However, as us cyclists say, “it went downhill from there”. We were biking the “Allegheny Passage” which is a 150 mile bike trail running from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD. One of a few lodging choices in the town of Confluence, PA for bikers, paddlers, and... More

Unfortunately we only stayed one night during the allegheny cycle trail. The accommodation is superb - it's atmospheric, clean, well furnished and sitting next to the rivers edge with a beer right next to the river is near perfect. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was first class. We throughly recommend it and wish we could... More

There is something about starting your day on a porch with your coffee and muffin watching the river go by as the morning mist rises. This is after falling to sleep to the sounds of water and wildlife from the river. This was my second visit to this lovely bed and breakfast. Anne Marie, the owner, has comfortably furnished a... The Loft accommodation at River's Edge made an ideal base for a few days of riding trails and exploring the area. It is a nicely decorated, spacious one bedroom upstairs apartment, with plenty of room for relaxing after a day on the trails, and lots of windows with good views (although none across to the river). The kitchen is very... More

We stayed in 'The Loft' for two nights in August this year on a spur-of-the-moment trip while visiting family in Pittsburgh. As this bit of the property is self-catering we didn't experience the issues with breakfast mentioned by others. The Loft is located over the antiques shop about 200m from the main building and is essentially a one-bedroom apartment. The... More

I stayed here two nights while bike touring on the GAP in October 2013. It was convenient to the trail, cozy and comfortable and well-appointed with all sorts of antique furniture, and included a nice little kitchen with delicious muffins, coffee, tea, cereal, juice and fruit. If you are looking for a place where the owner cooks you breakfast and... More

We were biking from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. - camping and B&B's along the way. Excited to stay at the River's Edge because we had eaten at the Cafe a half dozen times or so. The food and service was always above average. Arrived after riding 30 miles on the trail - so we weren't too tired and we were... More

The setting is beautiful, right next to the river where you can watch ducks enjoying the water and the lawn. I arrived by bicycle and applied at the attached restaurant for a room in person. The waitress issued me a room with half bath, I paid for it, and retired for a nap. I was awakened a couple of hours... More
