We celebrated our friend's birthdays with an overnight stay at Tara - A Country Inn. Tara is an 1850's Federal style mansion that has been rescued and converted into an Antebellum style Inn in rural Pennsylvania. The "Gone with the Wind" theme is carried throughout with period costumed staff, movie memorabilia, themed rooms named after principal characters from the story... More

We have stayed here many times. There is no other place I can go to feel total relaxation Tara provides. We make many trips every year, but none equal Tara for complete relaxation. We prefer amp upstairs room because there are less footsteps, but have stayed in a downstairs room without complaint, everyone is respectful that we are all here... More

The Butler's room was very romantic with the dimmed lights, fire place, Champaign and whirlpool. We had the indoor swimming pool all to ourselves when we went down. Tea time and the hospitality hour are a wonderful touch. The food is beyond delicious at either restaurant. The bar is quaint and the bartender is a great asset. We will recommend... More

Wonderfully lavish accommodations, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, nice warm swimming pool, Quiet and serene setting (we did not see one person under the age of 14 around, thank goodness). Tara is a 1st class country inn all the way. We loved it and so will you. Did I mention, the food is beyond compare....

We recently spent the weekend in Rhett's room for our anniversary. It was a pleasant and relaxing stay. Unlike others, once we awoke and opened the shutters and blinds, we did not find the room dark with 3 big windows. The bed seemed very large - do king's come super size? Many additions to comfort added to the pleasure of... More

On a recent Bus Tour, we stayed overnight at this beautiful country inn in Pennsylvania. The spirit of "Gone With the Wind" was everywhere: in the architecture, the furniture, the interior design and the artifacts on the walls. My room was very comfortable and luxurious: a large jacuzzi, beautiful wallpaper, a large comfortable bed, beautiful artwork and many complimentary items... More

My wife recently celebrated her birthday and she wanted to stay at Tara. This was our fourth visit to the inn and this time we stayed in Master Gerald's room. Upon your arrival, Mr. Nixon (dressed in a tuxedo) will greet you with a glass of champagne and escort you to your room. Waiting for you in your room is... More

This was our first stay, and it was awesome. It is 1st class all the way, incsluding the resturant. All the rooms looked wonderful. We stayed in Rhett's room. This room is a little dark, and the shower is small, but it is still outstanding. I liked Melanie's room better than Rhett's. It is much brighter and has a large shower.... More

We had a wonderful stay at Tara. Our first visit but it won't be the last. We stayed in Sweet Magnolia Blossom and loved everything about it. Super comfy bed..the best Jacuzzi ever! What impressed us the most was the attention to the smallest details: welcome tray with champagne, cheese, crackers, fruit and a personalized giant sugar cookie. An ice... More

we stayed in the Katie O'Hara room last Saturday for a wedding. This was our second stay at the Tara. Everything was great! We loved the room and the Jacuzzi. We even got breakfast served to our room. The staff was amazing.
