My cousin and I spent one night at Pennsbury and we had a lovely stay. I live in NYC but am from the Northwest corner of Connecticut and I have to say that from the moment I walked through the doors, it brought me back home. The Inn is a true B&B, rustic, filled with history, and homey. While I... more

My wife and I were looking for a little history and romance for our anniversary - and we certainly found the ideal location in southeast Pennsylvania at the Pennsbury Inn. The room was very nice and cozy (we stayed in General Lafayette) and the innkeepers were extremely helpful and informative - breakfasts always excellent. The inn itself is just seeping... more

I recently spent the weekend at the Inn along with three close friends for a girls night out/bachelorette party. Cheryl was so very helpful leading up to our arrival, assisting me with an in room massage request, dinner recommendations, and various other requests to make the night special for my friends. Both Cheryl and Chip were wonderful while we were... more

Our daughter was married at the Pennsbury Inn this past May (2008). As I was browsing the internet, using TripAdvisor to plan an upcoming vacation, I curiously checked out what others said about their Pennsbury Inn experience. Needless to say, I was quite surprised at the negative comment about a wedding held there in June. This was not our experience... more

My husband and I were looking forward to having a lovely wedding ceremony and reception at the Pennsbury Inn. However, we were horribly disappointed by the rude attitude and unprofessionalism of the Innkeeper, Cheryl Grono. She was rarely available to help us during those two days, and when she was available, she frequently made rude or curt comments to my... more

We enjoyed two comfortable nights in this historic inn, fascinated by its long history, reflected in the decorations. We savored two great breakfasts, at which Cheryl accommodated individual tastes and dietary needs. There are beautiful grounds and gardens, well kept. The inn is very close to numerous sites of historical and cultural interest. The innkeepers, Cheryl and Chip, helped us... more

The Pennsbury Inn is certainly beautiful. But if you want to talk about all the comforts of home well forget about It.Atleast at home you do not have two miserable In Keepers. All the beauty if the Inn was tarnished but their rudeness. more

Management response from
cheryl grono, Owner/Innkeeper

I would love to start a dialogue with Kelcee concerning her review. Her review was dated April '08 and her stay was in June '05. I'm not sure why she waited so long to do her review. Since I absolutely adore every aspect of innkeeping, I can't imagine what would have made someone perceive of me as being rude. Please...

We stayed at the Pennsbury at the recommendation of family in January 08 for two nights. The Pennsbury Inn has an excellent location if visithing Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, the winery or other Chadds Ford attractions. The Inn is an old (some parts 250 yrs old), rambling structure on several acres right on busy route 1. It has maybe a dozen... more

I had arranged to stay at The Pennsbury Inn near Philadelphia to avoid high hotel costs and to try a bed and breakfast type of accommodation during a 3-day business trip. The price was very reasonable and the coffee/food were delicious - a "must" for me. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful gardens as well as the antique... more

Just back from four nights at the Pennsbury Inn. Cheryl and Chip sure know how to run a B&B. The accomodatiuons were perfect, the breafasts delicious, the house is historic (1714) and charming. The grounds are wonderful, lots of places to wander and relax. Teddy the poodle is a joy. The location cannot be beat. Three minutes to Longwood Gardens,... more
