We stayed here in a couple of rooms with friends, just two nights. We visited Winterthur, which is not too far away, and the Brandywine Battlefield and Museum, which is very close. The Wyeth museum is also very close, but we ran out of time for that one. Longwood Gardens is also close, but we didn't have time for that... More

My girlfriend and I had just recently stayed 2 weeks ago at the Brandywine River Hotel here for a little romantic getaway and to check out some of the popular attractions nearby. On the surface it certainly appeared to be a pretty good price for a room with a 2 person jacquizzi, but after our experience we thought otherwise. The... More

This is definitely an older hotel, which is immediately apparent when you walk in the front door. But it's not run-down old. Quaint. Charming. Homey. The person who greeted me at the desk was friendly and helpful. I was amused that the hotel still used big, brass room keys, but it's all part of the charm. Just remember to bring... More

My sister and I spent two nights over Columbus Day weekend. The hotel was lovely, but the staff deserves gold medals. They were always pleasant and helpful, despite the fact that other guests were rude and demanding. The room was comfortable, the beds and linens delivered a good night's sleep. A great value and right next door to a very... More

I had the great misfortune of staying here when the management booked a reunion and a wedding crowd on the same night. The result ? Nonstop cacophony . Every door slam, toilet flush, bathtub fill reverberated in my head . All punctuated by a noisy crowd that would not pipe down despite my entreaties to the front desk. If noise... More

Friendly location easy to find big bathrooms. I recommended the Brandywine River Hotel. It is a bit dated, but the new owners are working on upgrades, they were VERY friendly, and my room (with a fireplace and a HUGE jetted tub) was clean and felt like I was home and not just another hotel. I would recommend it for business... More

I usually stay at the national chains in the area, but they were either less than helpful (seriously you are requiring a two night minimum mid-week when I am a frequent guest at your hotel..or they had no availability, the Hilton, and recommended the Brandywine River Hotel. It is a bit dated, but the new owners are working on upgrades,... More

My mom and I had a lovely stay. The hotel was quiet, the rooms comfortable, afternoon tea and morning breakfast were great. Excellent location for seeing Winterthur and Brandywine Valley area attractions.

This place was very lovely. Probably one of the most expensive places I stayed but I had a king size bed, a Jacuzzi & fireplace, all which were lovely. The room was done in what I call a putrid green (and I love green), so I think the decor needs to be spruced up a bit. Breakfast was great, and... More

My sister and I were on a short visit to the area for a memorial service. The hotel is conveniently located to the Chadds Ford and Kennett Square attractions. Both check in and check out were efficient and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. A nice place to stay.
