Very pleasant, clean building and rooms. I visited in September, so no kids and an enjoyable tea and cookies hour, and equally nice breakfast in their pretty, traditionally decorated breakfast room. Yes, furniture and decor is older, but staff were pleasant and it was relaxing. Location was nice. I will for sure go back!

We've stayed at this hotel a few times, and generally had a very good experience. Some of the furnishings are past their prime, as noted by another reviewer; but the king suite we stayed in this time had a wonderful bed, couch and easy chair (though not both positioned for TV viewing) and a jacuzzi good for sore old muscles.... The hotel is in the midst of wineries, antique stores, the Brandywine Battlefield, and of course the Brandywine River Museum. A very quaint, and NOT a run of the mill hotel. We stayed in a King room with Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. So nice! It is a small thing, but we could actually open the windows, and get a nice... More

The staff seemed overworked and harried; our room was a bit past its prime -- carpet needed a cleaning, cracked tiles in the bathroom, smell in the bathroom. Candy wrapper behind the night stand. Phone didn't work. I had asked for a quiet room, and was told "all our rooms are quiet." Was given a room off the front desk... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting the Brandywine Valley. We found our standard "de luxe" room to be clean and comfortable without some of the accessories often provided these days. The only one that we really missed was an opportunity to brew tea or coffee in our room. This was partially offset by the provision... More

This is a small family owned hotel right near Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square and all the sights one might wish to see in the Brandywine Valley area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The colonial decor was charming and our room was very clean and comfortable. Afternoon tea and a lovely breakfast are part of the room price. This... More

This small, comfortable, colonial-style hotel on a hill just beyond Brandywine Battlefield and close to the Brandywine River Museum is a pleasant place to spend several days in the Chadds Ford area. The staff was cheerful and ready to help in anyway possible. Rooms are nothing luxurious, but that is not what we needed or expected. The beds and pillows... More

Spent a night with my wife, intending to see Longwood Gardens the next day. Very friendly desk clerk. Very nice colonial motif. Clean. Great breakfast. We stayed in the fireplace/jacuzzi room. Incredible value. And right in the heart of all of the tourist attractions. Cannot wait to stay again.

This hotel is perfect for traveling with a dog. We had room 100 right next to the back door for easy access to lots of beautiful grassy land. The first night there were people in the adjoining room (not our group) and I could hear their TV through the wall or adjoining door. Luckily they turned it off at 10... More
