Mary and Alan are truly the consummate hosts and made our stay just perfect. Excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms, and great location. Would highly recommend. The B&B is a beautiful group of historic buildings joined together with lots of class and architectural character. Located right in the center of a cute little historic town, there are plenty of local restaurants within... More

We stayed here while visiting Dickinson College. Our hosts were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The historic house is well-maintained. The common area is comfortable, with a fully-stocked movie/game cabinet, table for work, and kitchen area with coffee/tea 24/7. There are many restaurants and shops within... More

The Carlisle House Bed & Breakfast is a charming inn with beautiful and clean rooms. Alan and Mary are delightful and make you feel very much at home. I would gladly return to the Inn the next time I visit Carlisle, PA.

Carlisle might not be on your "must visit" list, but it should. This charming college town will entertain and delight you, between the fantastic bistros like Cafe Bruges, to the handmade crafts at the local shops, to the friendly farmers market in the town square. Carlisle has some great art galleries, coffee shops, but my favorite was the wine tasting... More

We stayed in the Blair room and were very pleased. It's not surprising that this B&B is listed in the national registry, as it is both beautiful and historic. The room was impeccably clean and spacious. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Mary and Alan were perfect hosts, taking time to tell us about the area and things to do.... More

The rooms and halls have dark, wall to wall carpeting, the furnishings are unappealing, the breakfast is very limited, the location is not as close to Dickinson campus as was advertised: 6-7 blocks, not one as advertised. The check out at 11am is really 10:15 and there is not one minute if flexibility. It is in a commercial, not a... More

First of all, we are truly sorry that her stay with us did not come up to expectations. This is only the second time that we have received a "Poor" rating out of our 403 reviews, and we are naturally disappointed. We would like to address the issues that Adelouise raised in her review, although not with us at the... More

The warm welcome, comfortable accommodations and great quiche for breakfast far exceeded our expectations. We also appreciate the electric charger for the Tesla. We only wish we could have stayed longer and explored the town. We will be back.

We were only able to stay one night, but it was a good stop-over point on a long road trip. The inn provides relaxing atmosphere and the innkeepers were very helpful, friendly, and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was outstanding! Great location and easy to walk to most restaurants in the area. Cute side garden and very well-maintained.

My dad and I had such a lovely time staying at the Carlisle House. The rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great (excellent quiche) and it really felt like you were dining in your own home. Mary and Alan were so accommodating. Thank you for a great weekend!

Mary & Alan are the quintessential hosts in the most charming old home filled with Civil War memorabilia. Terrific amenities & extras. Breakfasts are above & beyond with the yummiest quiches ever, which we've re-produced from their web-site…thank you!
