Recently we stayed at the Carlisle House for a two night getaway with another couple. Rooms, host, staff and breakfast are top notch. Mary and Alan are a very warm and interesting couple with an extensive knowledge of the area and beyond. We will always return for an annual visit. More

We are experienced B&Bers and completely enjoyed our experience with Mary and Alan at their Carlisle House. One can name the various components of a good B&B and I believe most guests would quickly agree that each item is done quite well. But the innkeepers have gone far beyond insuring that there are simply no deficiencies. They have actively and... More

We first visited Carlisle House after hearing from friends about how special inn and its owners are. Our two stays have been so warm and relaxing. Mary and Alan are lovely, interesting people who have made us feel at home and always keep us up-to-date on the latest happenings in and around Carlisle such as the new places to eat... More

My husband and I just spent 4 nights in the rose room. This b and b is not to be missed if you are staying in the area. Bathrooms are being updated. Rooms are cozy and beautifully furnished. Mary and Allen are attentive hosts. Mary grew up in carlisle and knows everything about where to eat and shop. Restaurants and... More

We arrived amidst a torrential downpour with a strong current flooding the curb. Alan to the rescue with umbrellas and assistance with bags. We were welcomed to our amazing room. The accommodations are excellent down to every detail. It really is like being at home...if home is beatifully furnished, spotless and breakfast is prepared and served to you each morning.... More

A road trip to start the New Year, mild temperatures, First Night Celebration in Carlisle, and Mary's hospitality at the Carlisle House B&B - a great combination. With the B&B only blocks from the downtown celebrations we were able to enjoy a jazz singer, Elvis impersonator, rock band, acoustic guitar performance, bell ringers, Mr. Saey's beautiful tenor voice, fireworks, and... Thank you so much for your kind words! We love the Carlisle First Night celebrations, they are always so much fun! Actually, you can find a short video of the midnight Car Drop on the Carlisle House Bed and Breakfast Facebook page, just in case you were in the Gingerbread Man at midnight! Next year (12/31/2012) is the Fifteenth First... More

My husband and I spent our wedding night at The Carlisle House and it was perfection! Red rose petals on the bed, champagne chilling in the fridge, and heart soap in the shower. Mary and Alan were so friendly and even gave us a quiche to take home. So wonderful! We defintiely need to come back for all our anniversaries... More

What a great couple Caroline and David are! We wish you many years of wedded bliss - and we hope you'll come back for your anniversaries too! We love to take credit for our amenities, but we do need to say that Caroline's parents brought in the champagne, and that the red rose petals were our favorite silk ones that... More

We have stayed with Mary and Alan for years, and their palpable concern and warm affection is unflagging. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Mary is a tremendous resource person for historical details of Carlisle since her family has lived there for hundreds of years. No matter what problem we hav with travel plans, Mary and Alan find a way to... More

If you really want to experience Carlisle and its charm, the Carlisle House is the place to stay. You live the history of this town when lodging just 2 blocks from the town square, its historical markers of the Revolutionary and Civils Wars, the Molly Pitcher monument in the town cemetary, and virtually any church denomination and many great eateries... My husband and I spent a weekend at the lovely Carlisle House to preview the town of Carlisle for an upcoming move there for Army War College. The hosts, Mary and Alan, were wonderful, welcoming and very helpful. Their B&B was immaculate, beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious featuring some of Mary's really tasty baked goods. The rooms are very... More
