JD is a top notch caretaker and he immediately made us feel at home. We had the place to ourselves during business travel so not sure how it would be when all the rooms were full. Excellent breakfast, relaxing atmosphere, comfortable beds, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any of the ghosts that are reported to... More

The irondale inn is a lovely historic stone house just on the edge of town. We had a two night stay sept 21 and 22. We booked "The University Room " private toilet and sink with a shower shared with two other rooms. The room was beautiful and very comfy. Breakfast served in the morning is a three course cooked... Staying at the irondale inn is a unique and amazing experience- a truly exceptional property with ideal accommodations and setting. Word to the wise; double, triple, even quadruple confirm your reservation, especially on holiday weekends-- as the Innkeeper JD, who is a kind and amenable sort of fellow, is apt to double book, forget to write you in or otherwise... My husband and I had to evacuate Brooklyn during Hurricane Irene and found ourselves in the wonderful care of J.D. The Inn was cozy and clean and filled to the brim with interesting antiques to look at. It was a great respite and J.D. was kind, welcoming, and nice to chat with. He even sent me home with a starter... More

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for 3 nights while attending a nephew's wedding. Two other siblings and their spouses stayed as well, so we kind of had the run of the place. The Inn was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was tasty and well-presented, and the rooms were well-furnished and we slept well. The only drawbacks: first, there's... More

As soon as we stepped into the inn, we felt we were taken into another dimension. The stress of everyday life just melted away. The yard was well maintained and kept in its natural beauty. The rooms were tastefully decorated. Looked like a lot of thought and care went into the place. JD was the best host ever! Our car... More

I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone. My family and extended family stayed there for 3 nights for a cousin's wedding. JD is a fantastic host and very accomodating. The decor is unique with tons of antiques everywhere. We rented out the entire Inn and with folks ranging in age from 25-86, we all had a great time.
