Just what I was looking for. Less than three miles from Yachats this little oasis has hit every point. The host was very pleasant, personable and accommodating. In fact, he smoked some extra pork for me. I feeler like a priority the small family owned like places. The cottage I stayed in was smaller one bedroom with a kitchenette. Brand... More

Don is the best inn keeper; he went out of his way to accommodate us when we had no cell coverage for an emergency call. We stayed in a second floor, very large king room with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The bed was firm and comfy with soft linens. Three large picture windows make watching the ocean viewable.... It was truly a home away from home - spacious, clean, well appointed, updated and comfortable. Watching sunset and walking along the beach were the highlight of our day. David was very friendly and the pre-trip communication was fast. I agree with other reviewers that without a closet is a bit inconvenient.

Ocean front in Yachats which makes it easy for excursions both to the north and south of the Oregon Coast. The beach fronting the property is wide and sees few people. A stairway of about 12 steps needs to be traversed in order to get to the beach. No pool. Our room had a great view of the ocean. It... More

We found this place a couple years ago, and not only have we been back several times, we have sent many people there. It is not fancy, but it's so comfortable, and feels so private, and the beach is pretty unpopulated. We feel so at home, and even when we think we should maybe go somewhere else, we seem to... More

My husband and I came up from Texas and this is definitely the best kept secret that needs to be shared with others. The rates are more than reasonable for a great on the beach location we couldn't believe it! Also Don who runs it when the owners are not there was super friendly and of great service for anything... I discovered this gem with my partner almost 4 years ago. Have stayed in countless hotels/motels all along Oregon Coast and this one reigns above all the rest. Well else can you catch one of the most scenic oceans views on the entire Oregon coast for less than $85 a night during the off season? Look no further than the... More

We came for five days in spring - the weather was beautiful for spring in Oregon but unfortunately we were not as satisfied with our stay at Wayside Lodge. Looking back, I wish we would have moved to another hotel. We stayed in the main level room of the big house. The kitchen / bathroom was well stocked but we... More

I had a hard time putting a star rating on this lodge. The price makes it at least a 4, the age of the place moves it down. When we arrived, no one was available - just a note staying gone to town, back in a while, here is our cell phone #. As the pictures show, and as we... More

The Wayside Lodge is the best kept secret on the Oregon Coast. Clean, comfortable accommodations, very reasonable prices, excellent beach views and access. We've had the pleasure of meeting the owner on a couple of occasions and the current manager, Don, is top-notch. Reservations couldn't be easier by phone. We came in late; Don left a note on the office... More
