We arrived at the small town of Wheeler as a stop-off on our West-Coast Roadtrip, and after a long tiring drive this was just what we needed. The house itself sits on route 101 opposite a large and beautiful estuary, although the ever-present West Coast cloud spoiled our sunset! Our hostess was very welcoming and provided us with a brief... more

If this were a book and you were to judge it by its cover--you would be making a big mistake. What passes on the outside as an old, beat-up hotel just masks the clean, warm and very nice rooms that are tucked away inside. Our room had a very comfortable bed, bottled waters, a very large seperate bath and shower,... more

We just returned from an 8 week road trip through 8 states and 2 provinces in Canada. The Wheeler Hotel was one of my favorites of all the places we stayed. It was quaint, well cared for, clean, and had many special touches. The rooms are small, however, so don't expect a huge suite type atmosphere. Although the hotel is... more

This lovely old restored Hotel is a gem on the Oregon coast. The decor along with antiqe furniture makes you feel as if you have gone back in time. Our room had a wonderful view of the bay and was spotlessly clean and comfy. There is a very large antique shoppe with wonderful finds in Wheeler too. The Waves Restaurant... more

I would not recomend this hotel to anyone traveling on the oregon coast. Vacationing here for 5+ years and to know the new owner of a previously popular hotel has the negative history of assult to a woman is very unslettling as you sleep at night. The hotel sheets were unclean as well as the messy lobby and disrepectful staff. more

So great!

We went here on our honeymoon. We also went to several other bed and breakfasts down the Oregon and Washington coasts. I was a little scared about this place because it was so cheap and the website's not that great, but it was our favorite of all the places we stayed. The room was super clean and they had great... more

Very pleasant hotel. Newly restored. You walk in the door and you're in a different world. The hotel was built in the 20's and the recent renovations have turned it into a very quiet, serene environment. The room we had was excellent - roomy and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We had our own private bathroom. Some of the... more

The staff were very nice, the hotel cute and the price right. We had some things we would like to see improved. As a general rule, when we've gone to these type of old restored hotels there is a TV off after 10 or so policy, not the case at the Wheeler. We had the misfortune to be next to... more

We've stayed at many hotels and motels along the Pacific coast during the past forty years but only at the Wheeler Hotel have we felt like special guests. Inn-keepers Winston and Maranne have created an environment and ambience few hotels can come close to equaling for the price. A stay here is something we feel everyone will remember with fondness.... more
