I read about this place being awesome. The grounds and history do offer something to that, but we chose to sleep here and so I must mention my experience as a "hotel" guest. Our room looked nice, the fixtures and everything were somewhat antiqued and nicely stylized to the surrounding atmosphere. The bedding was only average, a mere 3 pillows,... More

Yes, we can be a loud property, we have full wood flooring in 90% of our rooms with large antique rugs, but that can never dampen the sound of a fully carpeted facility. We do have quieter areas of the hotel in terms of full carpeting, away from front entrance etc.. Hopefully you'll try us again and if so, please... More

This is a unique hotel with a large surrounding grounds and a variety of things going on, including kind of a hot-spring pool, movies, restaurants and bars, and most importantly, an outdoor stage venue featuring a range of very good bands and musicians. It's modeled on a mini-folk festival; you sit on the ground except for the high-roller plastic chairs... More

Just stayed here again after years. This is most definitely the BEST place to stay in Oregon! The soaking pool, the live music, the art work, the history of the building. The restaurant makes their meals with food grown right outside in the garden! The wine, beer, and spirits are made right here on the property. I can truly say... More

This place is truly unique, one-of-a-kind. I’ve just returned from my second visit in just over a month and immediately made reservations for key summer holidays. This place books up in advance if you need the weekends in high season. The varied room options make it affordable enough for me to come and stay while spending most of my money... More

My trip to the Edgefield was booked for me by a client who chose it as a place to have a meeting. So I'm going to review it partly as a hotel guest and partly as a meeting participant. As a guest, as I wrote in the title, it depends on what you come in expecting. It's less of a... More

We expected a historic hotel that was originally built for the elite and would therefore be lovely. What we found was quite the opposite. When booking room #313 we were warned that the bathrooms were communal but no one mentioned that none of the rooms have air conditioning and that the elevator only goes to the 2nd floor. After a... My wife and I went here and met up with her sister and husband and had a fantastic time. We started off playing 18 holes on the pitch and put golf course then went over to the winery. Later, we went to dinner and finished off the night by going to their really cool jacoozi. This place has everything for... More

Amazing world the minute you walk onto property. Truly maintained historic property. Magical local artwork everywhere you turn. Unique rooms, pubs, theater, restaurants, winery, saltwater soaking pool. Unreal. Get lost in the moment. You can carry your glass of wine all around property. Very friendly staff and guests. All restaurants offer something different. No need to leave for fun. Love... More

I haven't been to a McMenamin's that was ever disappointing. We stayed overnight at McMenamin's Edgefield Manor in Troutdale. The employees are all interested in taking care of the customer. We stayed in the Power House in a corner room upstairs. It was a queen bed, no air conditioning (we just opened the windows for a cool breeze). The bathroom... More

We never intended to even visit Edgefield. We met a blown glass artist at the Portland market who invited us to visit his studio on the Edgefield property. Once we got there, we just didn't leave. There is a winery, a vintage billiards hall, a HUGE property to explore, restaurants and the rooms are shockingly affordable. I probably left something... More
