I'm surprised my German wife likes Edgefield as much as me but she really does. The restored Multnomah Co. Poor Farm is impossible to describe but is easy to enjoy its antique ambience and current vibe. Unlike most hotel stays, it is about the hotel. Can not wait to return! Did I mention the food and drink?

Edgefield, just outside of Portland but fills like you have traveled to the country. The ground are beautiful, you can walk from one pub to another and never use your car. The winery has a nice tasting room with live music and old over stuffed chairs feel like home. So grab a glass of good wine and sit awhile. There... More

so much more than a hotel. this has all the fun and flair of a mcmenamins property...or 10. the various restaurants and pubs are good, the rooms are a lot of fun with great atmosphere and views. they are comfortable as well- and the shared bathrooms are better than they sound. the only gripe we had was that it was... Very friendly gal at check in and was able to check in early. McMenamin's are a fun place to stay. Yes, it can be a bit noisy, but it' s "I'm having a good time noise". The soaking pool was wonderful, a must do! If your room doesn't have a bathroom, don't forget your flip flops. We didn't mind the... More

We were set to spend the first two nights of our honeymoon at McMenamins Edgefield and were excited to have a funky Portland experience. We understood that the 'hotel' was an old building that had been renovated and had even put them on our wedding registry. We got several gift cards from friends and family and had booked dinner at... We overnighted here last week and loved it. It's such a big property with great gardens and soo many restaurants and bars to choose from, although the menus are about the same other than the Black Rabbit fine dining venue, that we had fun just wandering from one restaurant to another. There's a cool theatre with cheap (@$4) movies. the... More

It sounds like you really experienced the Edgefield pretty fully. That's great! There are so many things to do and exploring the grounds and enjoying the art is the exact experience we hope for our guests. Thanks so much for staying. Owen C. Hotel Management More

We have stayed at several McMenamins properties. We have enjoyed them all. This is one of our favorites. A lot to do here. We loved wandering around the grounds, very pretty. We enjoyed the different bars, especially The Little Red Shed and J's Ice House, both so small and quirky. We visited the winery and shared a wine flight, met... More

Thanks for coming. Glad you met people during your stay. Community is definitely part of what we hope guests can come away with. There are so many opportunities to connect, in that several of our bars are really small and make it easy to initiate conversation with a fellow patron. Cheers, Owen Craig. Had a great experience here. Beautiful secluded grounds. Great craft beer and wine. Really good food. The only reason that I didn't rank it as excellent, is the accomodations. I would have chosen a room with a restroom inside it if it had been available. Those are few and far between. I can imagine that during really warm weather, it... More

Thanks for taking the time to review us. Your comments regarding cleanliness have been shared in a manager meeting and I apologize for us failing on that level. We've cleared out fans and need to do that more often through the summer. We've also upped the standard in housekeeping and have resolved some issues we had over the summer. I... More

I love Edgefield and have been there several times. This week I was there to celebrate my 50th with a friend celebrating her 60th. They ran out of robes...NOT GOOD! When we went to the soaking pool, it seemed like everyone else had robes except for us. The staff at the front desk, the winery, and in the Black Rabbit... More

Thanks for your review. Our Grounds and aesthetic are wonderful, but we can't rely solely on that for our guest experience. Our apologies, we did run thin on Robes after summer, to my knowledge though there was only one day affected by a shortage in the guest room. Grumpy staff are never okay, we receive so many positive comments about... More

Far too much to describe. Beautiful. Flawless. Fascinating. Art and flowers/plants everywhere. Labyrinth feel as you wind your way through various areas. Vineyard in front. Spa on site. Knowledgeable folk. Rooms with bath down the hall...really old fashioned but ok. Well done. Busy but quiet place.
