Amazing world the minute you walk onto property. Truly maintained historic property. Magical local artwork everywhere you turn. Unique rooms, pubs, theater, restaurants, winery, saltwater soaking pool. Unreal. Get lost in the moment. You can carry your glass of wine all around property. Very friendly staff and guests. All restaurants offer something different. No need to leave for fun. Love... More

I haven't been to a McMenamin's that was ever disappointing. We stayed overnight at McMenamin's Edgefield Manor in Troutdale. The employees are all interested in taking care of the customer. We stayed in the Power House in a corner room upstairs. It was a queen bed, no air conditioning (we just opened the windows for a cool breeze). The bathroom... More

We never intended to even visit Edgefield. We met a blown glass artist at the Portland market who invited us to visit his studio on the Edgefield property. Once we got there, we just didn't leave. There is a winery, a vintage billiards hall, a HUGE property to explore, restaurants and the rooms are shockingly affordable. I probably left something... More

..if I could get a room with a bathroom... The property is a typical McMenamins, creative fantasyland ..actually even more so as the property is extensive with numerous buildings having been McMenamin-ized ..just a treat to visit several of the onsite attractions from wine-tasting to restaurants, movies...concerts..what'cha want, it's probably there...

I stayed in Edgefield's Men's Hostel last week and really enjoyed the experience. A friend in Portland had offered me his couch for the night, but it turned out to be a loveseat. For only $34, I had a comfortable bed at Edgefield Resort, with all the associated resort privileges. Since I was staying on a Monday night, there was... More

I stayed in Portland for a week and went to McMenamins Edgefield twice. a very enjoyable visit. There is so much to do here and the grounds are so beautiful. I went to happy hour twice and enjoyed the Hamburgers and Beer. They make wine here too and the wines are good especially the Pinot Gris. The Pinot Gris is... More

I normally go with the hubby, but I also take just the kids some times. We can catch a movie while having lunch at the Power House Theater, walk through the vegetable garden, run through vineyards, see cute little bunnies everywhere and even pick blackberries when in season. Good food, good beer, awesome historical site and great for grown ups... More

We heard of this place after landing in Portland so thought we would try it. We loved it. Had a great sandwich and sitting in the theater at a communal table with other guests we watched a first run movie. We never stayed at the lodge so don't have any idea how that would be, but from the looks of... More

Great old buildings that inspire a party destination. Room did not have a bathroom, but had to use a communal one down the hall, like they did in the old days. The communal lavatory was high quality, like being in a upscale 100 year old gymnasium at an old university. The hotel room was noisy and large and had a... More

Thanks for your posting David. We run about 15 concerts a summer and depending on the band the facility can get very busy. I hope you get a chance to experience us again on a non concert night or even a weekday. The off season is wonderful too. Guest experiences can vary from serene, to lively, to quiet, to whimsical,... I arrived at Edgefield full of hope for a great stay where my son was to be married. I made my reservations months in advance and showed up on a hot, steamy afternoon early in August. My room was ready and I had the shock of my life when I entered. It was about 90 degrees in there! I looked... More

Thanks for your feedback, it's all important to us. We are looking into ways to get A/C into our hotel rooms, but due to the nature of our Historical Building, it's no easy undertaking. Our common spaces are largely air conditioned as well as all event spaces, bars and restaurants. This summer was the hottest summer in recent memory so... More
