We were very skeptical about the reservation we made to stay here two nights in early September after reading some of the reviews on this website. But we were pleasantly surprised all the way around. We dined in the Cascade dining room both evenings and found it to be wonderful. The waitstaff was attentive and professional - and the food... more

We started our Oregon trip at the Timberline Lodge, staying for two nights. And yes, the rooms are small and some of the staff are not so warm and friendly, the overall experience outweighs the bad. The history alone is enough to warrent an overnight stay. We had dinner in the cascade room and it was great. We had a... more

The view on Mount Hood is just fantastic, such as the historic old building (a real piece of art). But that's about it. The staff was somewhat rude (not friendly in the best case), the room particularly noisy (close to the main hall). Some customers don't know how to behave, that's one thing, but the least you could expect in... more

I stayed at this property about two years ago and had a decent experience. This time, however, my experience convinced me this was the last time I'll put up with an over-priced room, only fair quality and again over-priced "gourmet" dinners, horrible cold breakfasts and a young, inexperienced, disorganized and sometimes just blatantly rude staff that can get away with... more

If you've never been to the Timberline Lodge at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon, it's worth a stay, but know what you're in for. The Lodge is a 1930's WPA Project that was updated in the mid-1990's. There are beautiful artistic and unique touches throughout the building: staircases have animal-effigy wood-carved bannisters, there are artworks, murals and stained... more

Timberline Lodge may be historic but beautiful it is not! my husband and I stayed 2 nights and could not wait to check out. The room was small and dank, the bed was terrible. We felt as thought we were sleeping on balled up old rags. Worst of all the staff was surly at best. When I asked a simple... more

We love historic lodges in National Parks and while a bit rougher for wear, the Timberline Lodge was worth a visit. Great views abound. Six of us bunked in a roomy 8-bed bunkroom with shared bathroom, which was cleaned regularly. This made for an economical stay at an otherwise very expensive lodge. We arrived in July not knowing it was... more

As an Oregonian, I'm ashamed of the poor service provided by this local lodge. Poor service by the staffs totally spoils the value of this historical lodge. We stayed in the lodge for a Saturday night of July. Because of arriving there in the morning, we enjoyed hiking in trails around the lodge. We wanted to take a rest in... more

Unless you have to ski in the summer in Oregon I can't imagine why someone would stay at the Timberline Lodge in late June. It was very crowded and needs a refurbishing. We enjoyed the fireplace, but otherwise our room was small and the bed was lumpy. The Lodge is probably cozy in the winter, but not in the summer.... more

Stayed one night at the Timberline Lodge last weekend, and loved it! Let me preface this review by saying we stayed on a Sunday evening, last weekend in April. The resort accomidations were very nice, we stayed in a bunk room with 3 bunks. Shared bathroom was extremely clean, always available, and just a short walk to the heated pool,... more
