Having stayed in many motel rooms over the years, I have never seen such a nice room in such a small town. You usually find ran down smelly sh@$ holes that smell like dollar store lysol. The attention to detail and cleanliness were as good as any downtown hotel in San Francisco or the like. And the night staff (Chris)... More

We travel a fair amount for business, so our stays are often at chain hotels where frequent overnights rack up free stays. It's always nice to depart from that kind of life, and as none of those options weren't available in the Gorge area, we chose Celilo Inn. I'm pleased with our choice. Gunner was extremely knowledgable about the area... More

The best part of our stay here was the siting above the Columbia River Gorge. However its proximity to the highway running next to the river makes it a bit noisy, especially if you like to open your windows as we do. It feels a bit dated but the beds are very comfy. When we checked in, there was only... More

I only have 4 requirements for a hotel/motel room, and they're pretty basic. In order of importance: CLEAN, quiet & comfortable (tied in importance because what's one without the other?), and affordable/good value. We happened upon the Celilo after a very bad day of travel (blow-out on I-5 during rush hour). I did a quick internet search and found that... More

This motor inn is definitely not going to wow anyone from the outside. However, the rooms are quite well appointed and comfortable. The host was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast and the view (which looks out at the Dalles Dam and Mount Hood). We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if in the area.

The Celilo Inn is a remodeled old time 60's motel overlooking the Columbia Gorge. The rooms are small, but clean with great views and a friendly staff. My wife and I were going to see a Jethro Tull concert at the Maryhill Winery about 20 miles from the The Dalles, Oregon on the Washington side of the Columbia river. Free... More

The concert nights are fun here at Celilo. Glad to hear you enjoyed the pizza surprise upon your return to the hotel. Wonder who Maryhill Winery will have next year to entertain us. More

We stayed three nights during a trip through Oregon. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The facilities are well maintained; the pool is nice, and the breakfast in the lounge is a welcome addition. Our only complaint is that the front desk staff seemed uninterested in their job, but that's a minor complaint.

This was a nice surprise. The hotel has been completely updated from what was a roadside hotel of yesteryear. Don't let the little access road through a neighborhood fool you, it is really a nice spot to stay. they proprietor is very friendly, and loves to share his knowledge of the local history. They offer a glass of wine, from... More

Fantastic experience--great renovated 1950's motel--super friendly and professional staff, unexpectedly wonderful breakfast, great glass of complimentary local wine on arrival, very clean and beautifully updated room and bathroom. Bit tricky to find, but if you follow the road directions, they are perfect. Well worth it. View of dam from deck fantastic--great place to sit and enjoy a drink or snack--pack... More

New, clean, quiet, great view, very helpful and accurate with dinner recommendations and discount cards - the Baldwin Saloon was fantastic - and antique store information and suggested route to Mt Hood with excellent directions. Breakfast was very upscale with fresh red raspberries/fruit, granola, real hot cinnabuns, etc. You might wonder about the neighborhood as you drive up the road... More
