This motor inn is definitely not going to wow anyone from the outside. However, the rooms are quite well appointed and comfortable. The host was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast and the view (which looks out at the Dalles Dam and Mount Hood). We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if in the area.

The Celilo Inn is a remodeled old time 60's motel overlooking the Columbia Gorge. The rooms are small, but clean with great views and a friendly staff. My wife and I were going to see a Jethro Tull concert at the Maryhill Winery about 20 miles from the The Dalles, Oregon on the Washington side of the Columbia river. Free... More

We stayed three nights during a trip through Oregon. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The facilities are well maintained; the pool is nice, and the breakfast in the lounge is a welcome addition. Our only complaint is that the front desk staff seemed uninterested in their job, but that's a minor complaint.

This was a nice surprise. The hotel has been completely updated from what was a roadside hotel of yesteryear. Don't let the little access road through a neighborhood fool you, it is really a nice spot to stay. they proprietor is very friendly, and loves to share his knowledge of the local history. They offer a glass of wine, from... More

Fantastic experience--great renovated 1950's motel--super friendly and professional staff, unexpectedly wonderful breakfast, great glass of complimentary local wine on arrival, very clean and beautifully updated room and bathroom. Bit tricky to find, but if you follow the road directions, they are perfect. Well worth it. View of dam from deck fantastic--great place to sit and enjoy a drink or snack--pack... More

New, clean, quiet, great view, very helpful and accurate with dinner recommendations and discount cards - the Baldwin Saloon was fantastic - and antique store information and suggested route to Mt Hood with excellent directions. Breakfast was very upscale with fresh red raspberries/fruit, granola, real hot cinnabuns, etc. You might wonder about the neighborhood as you drive up the road... More

A co worker clued me into this hideaway. Yes it has a good view, the bed was great, the room spotless, bathroom/shower good. Parking may be tough for a Ford pickup due to turn around space, but its manageable. The staff was attentive and polite! I arrived late but it was not a problem, and yes, its a quiet spot.... More

Great little inn, comfortable rooms, good beds, rooms look just as advertised. Evening front desk staff provided excellent service, glass of great quality wine locally brewed was offered. Beautiful view of the Columbia river Gorge and Mount hood in the distance. Awesome outdoor patio with fireplace, for evening relaxing. Heated pool with change area, on site laundry facilities. I recently came to The Dalles for a business meeting and tried out Celilio Inn. What a wonderful place. The recent remodel made the room clean and comfortable and the hotel check in staff was a real pleasure to deal with. They were friendly and wanted to do their best to make our stay a comfortable one. Who doesn't want... More

We were en route from Portland to remote eastern Oregon and stayed here on a pretty summer night. I was impressed with the remodel they've done on what was probably a pretty standard motel. The staff folks were so awesome. Really friendly -- gave us great advice on wineries to visit that afternoon.
