My husband and I were very excited to visit Seaside and stay in an historic inn. The gardens to the Gilbert Inn were lovely. The reception area was lovely. The nice lady who checked us in, from Charleston SC was lovely. Our room was...bijoux. That's okay, we did not expect the Ritz. It was adequate and clean. The walls and... More

Dear Guest, I just wanted to thank you for your kind words about the Gilbert Inn, It is charming, isn't it. I also want to thank you for your comments regarding changes we could make. Change is something that we are always working on and we have some big plans for the Inn... To address the prison cell feel, due... More

We stayed two nights, nice room, lovely location. Old Victorian room with nice touches such as a fruit basket and small chocolates as a treat during the day. Very close to the beach so the location was excellent. Wi Fi was good and although we didn't use the dwnstrs lounging area it was a very nice space for sociallizing, reading,... More

Well appointed room ( we were upstairs in the north/added wing). Noise was no worse than one would expect in this location, and we kept the windows open. Yes, the bathroom is a bit tight if that is important to you, but I prefer having the space in the bedroom as sitting area, and our room (#5) offered plenty of... More

We stayed two nights in this very clean, very well-maintained Victorian close to the promenade. The bedroom was quite small (typical of this age of construction), but the bathroom largish. Lights in the bedroom were a bit too dim for comfortable reading. No minifridge, but there is ice available in the sister facility across the street.

The Gilbert Inn in Seaside Oregon was a beautiful home from the late 1800's. The front desk staff were all very friendly and the lobby and our room was very clean and well kept. There was complimentary home cooked cookies and fresh fruit in the lobby and free DVD's to check out at the front desk. The yard was beautiful... More

My husband and I enjoyed two evenings here. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms nicely decorated and immaculately clean, and the price very reasonable. We had a deluxe queen room and found the bed excellent and the room spacious. We will definitely return again.

Gilbert inn - the good Victorian charm, comfortable, clean, good service, reasonable price. The bad Construction across the street with backing truck alarms at 6am, trash truck on Monday sounds like a war zone at 6:30, and shrieking gulls at all hours. No AC so windows must be open , no way to shut out the noise. Sandwiched in between... More

The service was great and people were very friendly. The location is very close to the beach. As mentioned by one other customer, I booked thinking it was a B&B. Many of the booking websites give that impression.

We've stayed at the Gilbert Inn several times over the years. This time they had an offer for returning guests that we couldn't refuse - two nights for the price of one. We were greeted warmly by the innkeeper, Maria. Then we settled in for the next peaceful two days. The entry (living room) of this Victorian home is beautiful,... More
