This was a quaint little place in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Think B&B with out the breakfast. There was a bit of history throughout the place - a nice converted Victoria mansion, with pictures of the founders and some old timey feeling notions throughout the common areas. The room was clean and comfy with a bit... More

We spent two nights at the Gilbert Inn on our visit to Seaside. As other reviews have stated, it is full of character, history, and charming decor. The location is fantastic.... a five minute walk to the main street and all the shops and restaurants.... a two minute stroll to the beach and board walk. We had an amazing view... More

Felt compelled to share the good feelings I get when thinking of my stay. Very charming old style lobby, staff that was polite and courteous and 'themed' rooms that were very clean and comfortable. Very centrally located and one block from the beach. I have not stopped recommending it to people looking for that unique and special getaway.

I'll admit it: I found this place by accident. I get to Seaside a lot and already have my favorites. But they were offering a great price for a Tuesday-Wednesday - and they were only a block from the ocean. Their website looked terrific, so I took the chance. Wow. What a find! This restored Inn is stunning. Well appointed... More

The staff was friendly, the town is lovely, the location is fantastic, and the history is palpable. The only thing I wish I could change would be making my stay longer. There were cookies in front of a fire in the lobby as well as a sun room with books and games. I was there for a romantic getaway, but... More

We booked our room on Hotwire for our 27th wedding anniversary. Because I was unsure of our arrival time, I emailed the Inn and asked for dinner recommendations, explaining the purpose of our trip. The staff replied very quickly and gave us several options. We arrived on time but waited a full five minutes while the staff "chatted" in the... More

We are B&B junkies, preferring inns or small family-run accommodations to cookie-cutter hotels. The Gilbert Inn kept showing up in travel magazines and online, and our night there did not disappoint. The place is alive with history and reminded me so much of spending the night at Grandma's house: the claw foot tub, the staircases and paneling, the cozy common... More

We were on our way to Portland for tests for my husband--not a pleasure trip. We decided to spend the night before at the Gilbert Inn. We're so glad we did. Wonderful room, comfy, comfy chairs, great bed! Front desk staff was very helpful and welcoming. The only thing we wished for was a refrigerator in the room. We have... More

we're so happy with this inn & the price is very reasonable! It's very close to the main strip & to the beach, but it's also quiet. It's a very cozy, clean & comfortable place to stay :) wish we could've stayed longer! We would recommend this place to anyone!

This charming ten-ensuite house was built in 1892 only a block from Seaside Beach and a block from the main street -Broadway. This Inn is really not for children or those with disabilities. While they have a few rooms on the first floor, most are up two flights of stairs. The rooms are comfortable and cheery with large overstuffed chairs,... More
