Staff were exceptionally friendly, playing with our baby. Rooms were clean and quiet, with updated furnishings. Great $5 breakfast deal (eggs, bacon, toast, etc.) in a nice restaurant with a fountain. Best pizza place is Garlic Jim's (you'll need to pick it up, but it's worth the drive). more

We bid for a 3 star room on Priceline at night less than an hour before we arrived. The mgr told us upon arrival that he could have given us a better price than we got on Priceline. When we requested a room with 2 beds he said there was only a room with 1 bed available but would get... more

We enjoyed our stay. The property does need a facelift but our room was clean and spacious (single king room) and the bed and pillows were fantastic! We were very comfortable. There was no view to speak of and we didn't have time to even try to access the pool but our interaction with staff was very good and the... more

I found this hotel via the internet. The website made the hotel look great. Great photos, nice pool, comfortable and they claimed to have recently remodeled. When my family and I pulled up to the hotel, the exterior looked nothing like the photos from the web, well maybe if they were taken when the hotel first opened in the 60's... more

The hotel is old and run down and in desperate need for renovation. It really is less than a Motel 6, and I don't exaggerate. It is stunning that it's trying to be a "3 star" hotel. You'll know you're in trouble when you walk into the elevator to see a matt placed on a scratched up, peeling floor. The... more

We stayed one night here in a 2 bed room. The beds were the most comfortable I have found in any hotel. They actually had pillow top mattresses. And the pillow was wonderful too. This hotel appears to be going through remodel. The room we had looked freshly painted and updated. The outside of the building looked horrible as it... more

Two queen beds, small table, chair blocking A/C left almost no room for people. But who would want to stay in room anyway? Dark, dreary, and poorly ventilated--not worth> $90/night. more

Reservation was not noted in hotel system on arrival. Room and bath were clean and well supplied. Bed was comfortable. Room noise from neighbor rooms is excessive. Entire building needs to be refurbish. Lobby, entrance and exterior of complex is very run down. Can't understand why a Red Lion property would look so shabby. Would not stay again until improvments... more

I have been staying at this hotel the past 3 years as a business traveler. It offers a newly renovated 4th floor with pillow top mattresses and very clean rooms. Also, each time you stay at the Red Lion you get 500 Alaska Air miles plus points which add up to free hotel night stays for you and your family.... more

I have stayed at a few Red Lions and expect a decent experience. Not 3 star, but nice. This was not the case with the Salem Red Lion. The words that most immediately come to mind when looking at this building are "tear down". The public areas look as thought they are 100% orginal, circa 1979. The pool area was... more
