The hotel is right on the beach and within easy walking distance to pretty much everything in town. It's hard to complain about the location. I had a smaller room on the side facing away from the beach, which was fine because it was just me. However, if you're traveling with others (and especially with kids), you'll want a larger... More

I agree with the reviewer that said you get what you pay for. An older, not so well maintained hotel with almost excruciatingly small rooms when not on the ocean. The rooms look into a street and parking lot and are the furnishings make you think you've stepped back to the 1960's. OK for one night if you're passing though... More

If you get an oceanfront room you will be 100 feet from the water's edge. A small but intimate deck out your sliding glass door allows you access to the sand beach and the marvelous sunsets. The room is casual with a small kitchenette that is great for breakfasts and lunches. Our room had a fireplace that we would have... More

Five adults stayed at the Tradewinds and had a lovely time. We got three rooms with connecting inner doors which opened the space. Two of the rooms were large ocean front rooms with kitchens, seating areas and decks overlooking the beach. The owners were very nice and did extra touches to make the property welcoming. The flowers out front were... More

Kind of an old little hotel, rooms are pretty small, the rooms on the ocean side are over priced and the other rooms look into a parking lot. Bed was okay but the priced was decent and it was only one night. Wouldn't recommend for more than that.

We met our friends in Seattle and stayed there for a few days before venturing to Oregon We stayed there for a weekend. The owner was very polite and was nice enough to upgrade our room for minimal cost to an ocean view room. Everything is within walking distance. Our overall experience was perfect. There is a small market not... More

After arriving and checking in we found out we had booked a non-view room through Hotels.com. The owner was gracious enough to point it out and gave us the option for a better room for a pretty significant up charge (33%) more. I felt like it was a bait and switch. Fortunately the room he selected had a great location... More

Room was great, large, clean and recently redecorated with an excellent location so close to the waves and a nice balcony. An efficient mini kitchen and fireplace were nice. Original artwork, flat screen tv and double shower heads was a nice touch. The sheets and towels were nice and bed was comfortable. Checkout at 11:30 instead of 11:00 so you... More

I've been going to Tradewinds for many years. I went as a teenager when the old building was still standing. The "new" trade winds maintains the unique charm and character of Rockaway. The room are attractive, clean and comfortable. the motel is located on the best part of the beach with walk-out right onto the sand from the 1st floor. The... More

This motel is right on the beach, open your patio door, walk down a few steps, and you're in the sand. The room is a little dated but it was clean with a great shower and nice towels. My only real complaint was that the bed wasn't quite as comfortable as I would have liked, although that didn't stop me... More
