I'd definitely stay here again upon visiting Crater Lake. We stayed with my spouse, his parents and my nephew in July. We were able to get a 2 bedroom cabin that had a king size bed and 2 double beds. In addition someone could have slept on the couch. It was cabin #22 and it was pretty big. We felt... More

Stayed in the lodge as a kid, decided to try the renovated cabins for a couple nights last week. Stayed in cabin #9. Check-in went ok, you pay in full up front. Drove my car around and went in to unload my stuff, noticed no mat to wipe my feet (it was raining). Went into the bathroom...no soap. I didn't... More

Great family time. Nice cabin in the woods without the distraction of tv. Nice family time by the fire and playing cards. Close proximity to Crater Lake. Nice hiking along Union Creek and an awesome burger across the street at Becky's.(pretty sure that was the name) The cabin (#7) was large, clean and updated. Given the opportunity, might have stayed... More

I read the reviews on TripAdvisor a few days before I was staying here but many months after booking my reservation, and I became quite nervous. The reviews were mixed, and I wished I had read them earlier to know to book a renovated cabin (which seemed to be the consensus). When I arrived at Union Creek Resort two weeks... More

We were lucky to be able to book at the last minute a room in this hotel. because in this period is always full. Small room but very comfortable very according to the site. A river passes to the side and the big trees make this a unique place.. Although the bathroom is shared it is very clean ( my... More

Our check in was fast, even though it was a very busy time at the resort. We stayed in Cabin 5. We loved the feel of the cabin, our Grandson was impressed even without TV and streaming WIFI. A couple of tiles could be fixed in the kitchen around the sink, but other than that, it was very clean, and... More

This property was amazing! Soooo relaxing under big redwoods - fresh air and a creek running behind our cabin. The décor inside was fitting, with the knotty pine walls and ceilings as well as a comforter with deer that made it very woodsy feeling. Beckie's across the street was a charming little restaurant where I ordered homemade mushroom soup and... More

Sandy – we are thrilled you had a wonderful time up here in the woods! Thanks for the great comments (we love being described as “amazing”), and especially the compliments to Beckie’s Café. We hope to see you again! —Kent & Sandy Watson, Union Creek Resort owners More

We booked a 2 BR, planning to invite some friends to join us. Good thing they didn't make it This was the most depressing place we have ever stayed....no phone, no wifi, no TV (unless you pay them $10 extra). No "décor" no headboard, closet doors stuck, furniture dark green velour-type, bathroom sink plugged, no lamp in living room, (just... More

Beth, We are truly sorry that you had a disappointing stay at Union Creek Resort. The poor conditions you describe are not what we strive for – honestly. All of our accommodations are historic (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and rustic, but we really do work hard to make them clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. We feel terrible... My husband and I spent a Sunday night at the lodge above the store so that we'd be closer to morning hiking which we were. They mention a shared bath on the web site which I assumed to mean one bath shared between two rooms. This was a bath shared between 9 rooms and since the rooms were full the... More

Rennie, We’re sorry that we weren’t clearer on the website and we are in the process of fixing that. You make a good point about it being a difficult situation to share with that many guests, and it’s something we’re not sure how to fix. There is a bathroom downstairs in the game room which is accessible for Lodge guests,... More

I was not impressed with this place, very outdated, no bathrooms in rooms, no air conditioner, room was way too hot, not impressed, very dusty and smells of fresh oil on the wood but when you turn off the lights you can see the dust on the walls.

Dustin, We are sorry you had a negative experience at Union Creek Resort. We recently renovated all of the lodge rooms where you stayed and tried to improve the guest experience by updating furnishings throughout the rooms with brand new bedding, beds, night stands, chairs, furniture, (some) new sinks and fixtures, towel racks/fixtures, ceiling fans and curtains. We’re disappointed to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It’s a resort that hearkens back to a simpler era. We call it rustic comfort; similar to what you would find in the 1920s when it was first built, but now with modern conveniences and charm. You won’t find golf courses, spa services, or salons. But you will find a well-appointed, authentic lodge set amongst towering Douglas Firs in the Rogue River National Forest. It’s an ideal location to experience Oregon’s great outdoors in a simple, yet comfortably updated resort. All around is the smell of pine needles and the sounds of birds and rushing creek waters. The stunning natural setting includes distinctive Union Creek and the Wild & Scenic Rogue River, hiking trails amongst spectacular 700-year-old Douglas Firs in old growth forests, and nearby Crater Lake National Park – truly a must-see destination. ... more   less
