The Prospect Hotel has a ton of heart! During our stay, my partner was not feeling well and the owners immediately came to our aid, calling the nearby medical team, and making sure we were OK. It was so very appreciated during a frightening experience! They also fed all of the firefighters in the area, who were working hard to... More

Not much choice in this area, so staying at a historic place sounded romantic. Like many such places, you have to pretend that old is good, and the experience is what it is all about. Parking was ample. Reception was just OK. The room was small, as was the bathroom facilities. Service at breakfast was very slow, but the food... More

Crater Lake is in a very remote part of Oregon. My bucket list is to visit all the major national parks in the USA. I had crossed Crater Lake off the list -- no lodging, too remote. Then we found Prospect Hotel! What a perfect spot! Nice rooms, great food, and a wonderful, welcoming, extremely helpful staff! We spent 2... More

The B and B part of the hotel is cute, but the rooms are so small and the bed springs squeaked literally every time you turned over. We spent one night there and the next 2 in the motel rooms located nearby. Those rooms were bigger, but not clean. We had a glass that had obviously been used-toothpaste on it... More

Dear Gorleys, We are sorry that you didn't find the Historic Hotel to your liking. No doubt the rooms in Historic Hotels are on the small side. People were of smaller stature when the hotel was built. As to the Bed being somewhat noisy that too is part of sleeping on an antique bed. Most of our guests get a... More

We stayed in the motel part of the property as it was pet and child friendly. Ours had two rooms ( one with two twin beds), the other with a queen. We also had a kitchenette though the refrigerator had no freezing compartment. Surprisingly there was no hair dryer provided even though there were other amenities. The grounds were very... More

We are bicycle touring the northwest staying in motels. This motel has rooms in the main building and rooms in a separate building behind the main building. We had a room in the separate motel building. The room was surprisingly good except the wifi doesn't extend from the main building to the motel building. The positives: clean property and room,... I sent these comments in an email to the hotel, and when I received no response I followed it up with a letter, for which I also received no response. This is extremely poor on the management's part. 'Firstly I would like to say that everything about the hotel, food, staff etc was excellent when we stayed last night (Saturday... More

Close to Crater Lake. Beautiful old and historic hotel. Staying in historic hotel and not modern units is a treat. Big brass bed with handmade quilts. Plenty of reading material to reas on large front porch. Dining house is excellent. Try stuffed pork chop and lamb chops. Hotel has large selection of Oregon beers and wine. Nice peaceful area. Wifi... More

A fantastic experience- very comfortable and clean. Room was a bit small for 2 adults, but was clean and welcoming. The staff is so very nice, got to meet one of the owners. We weren't sure whether the fires would interfere, and they didn't. There was a smell of smoke in the air the first day, but nothing the 2nd.... More

so i have wanted to go to this place for three years-was on a college tour trip with my 17 year old son and got a one nite lucky spot to fit in Crater Lake. After braving the fires and smoke of the season in Ashland, we pulled into Prospect and luckily it wasn't smokey. We loved it. Rob the... More
