This b&b is out in the country. The hostess lives across the street and owns the Roan coffee shop in town. There was a key on the table inside the door and we just let ourselves in. The beds were great--all queen size with superb mattresses. The place is immaculate. We just used one bed of course. They had a... More

This is a B&B in a remodeled two-room schoolhouse situated along the John Day River. The flavor if the old schoolhouse is retained, but the place has been fully renovated and upgraded for comfort. We were so lucky to hear about it! If you are looking for peace and quiet, spacious, comfortable accommodations, and a gracious hostess who delivers gourmet... More

We were only able to stay here one night, but we will definitely be back. The building is perfect-- clean, historic, and so comfortable. Judy, the owner, was a perfect hostess and having a luscious breakfast delivered to your door at your specified time was so luxurious. It was a special occasion, so Judy helped us to arrange an catered... More

In Riverside's favor this is a clean, quiet, peaceful facility with comfortable beds. If you are looking for hospitality this is not the place to come. No one met us even though we told them when we would be arriving. We had to just let ourselves in since we had an evening schedule to keep and needed to unload our... More

We were a bit hesitant to stay here since there were only 2 Tripadvisor reviews - but thought we would take a chance & stay at least 3 nights/days out of our 2 week vacation and we are SO happy we did!!! Wish we had stayed longer! The other reviewers were right on - 6 miles (easy, flat road though)... More

A friend suggested we stay here and we gave it a try. It's about 6 miles from the town or Prairie and, as the name suggests, in an old one-room school house. It's situated on the John Day River and has great views of the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness area. The rooms were huge! It is decorated in cowboy/ranch, which makes... More

It was all too good to be true, but since it was our honeymoon, it was just damn good. After deciding that the generic motels of John Day weren't our thing, we stopped in nearby Prairie City and asked a local pruning her roses if she knew of any nice bed and breakfasts. She suggested we ride down this country... More
