The Jupiter was the perfect place to stay when we attended a concert at the Bossanova Ballroom. The room was perfect. The Doug Fir had great food and drinks. We will definitely be staying there again.

For $120/night this was great. Walking distance to everything, friendly and casual staff (without being unprofessional). Great rock club, bar and restaurant on premises. I ate in the restaurant 4x in 48 hours. Rooms are typical motel size but large enough for a 3-person meeting. Nicely appointed and very clean too. Def will be back but maybe for fun rather... More

A wag somewhere described the Jupiter Hotel as The Jetsons Meet IKEA. With an open mind you will love this place. Where else do you find earplugs, a copy of Dwell Magazine, two bottles of wine, and an <ahem> in your room? Our bed was delightfully comfortable and we slept sweetly. Doug Fir, the adjoining restaurant, is fantastic, especially for... More

I had the pleasure of visiting Portland, Oregon this past summer and the first hotel we stayed at was the Jupiter Hotel. It's conveniently located in the Lloyd District (I think) and close to lots of great restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was very kind and helpful. The linens and whatnot were clean and welcoming. The only thing, is that... More

Dear Kim M, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we really appreciate any opportunity to hear about things that we can do to improve our guest experience. I completely agree that some of the bathrooms and A/C units we a bit old, which is why we are undergoing renovations of both. Since you stayed with us last, we... More

Cute room until you inhale and note that it smells like mildew and wet dogs. Wind and rain came through the window all night, by the morning the carpet was wet a third of the way across the room. The nonsmoking rooms are good, but everyone just stands outside their doors to smoke and that is where the A/C is... More

Dear SkiKillset, I am very sorry that you didn't find value in your stay and I would agree there is no value in a room that smells like you describe. Unfortunately I would need some more information to locate your reservation and correct this issue for yourself and future guests. This is not an issue that we generally get and... More

Need a cool young feelin' indie feeling place to stay? The Jupiter is definitely your spot. I stayed here in December and I couldn't be any happier. It has the essence of Portland all in one hotel. The Doug Fir restaurant right next door compliments the hotel with the bar and shows that they hold. I got to see Phantogram... More

Good hotel. Good value. I’ve stayed at the Jupiter a number of times and I love these guys so much. The staff was friendly and attentive. The first few times I stayed here I had no issues whatsoever, but a week or so back when I stayed in a room closest to Water Ave. I guess I was pretty close... More

Dear H G, Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback as it helps us deliver the best experience to our guests. Those stupid trains...even though they are considerably far away, some drivers are a little Horn-Happy. Portland is the perfect weekend getaway and staying at the Jupiter Hotel makes each trip better than the last. The location is ideal, we drive in park and then bike around the rest of our time in Portland. I have stayed in summer and winter, the rooms are ideal for anytime of year. The on site bar is fun. We stayed here for 5 days and will never return. The website was deceiving, we didn't realize this was a motel until we arrived from the East Coast. Our room lacked basic amenities - no coffee maker, no iron, only 2 hangers. We got the suite and paid $$$ for it, so that we can be a gathering room for... More
