Despite other reviews of noise.. we were in the quite section and the only noise was our air conditioner. Our plane arrived at 8:00 pm and now that I think about it we should have taken a taxi to the hotel. The red line from pdx was fine but the walk from our stop to the hotel after a long... More

We stayed here for two nights over a long weekend, the hotel was in a great location. We wandered downtown a bit, but enjoyed east Burnside much more. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The restaurant connected with the property - Douglas Fir - was great, with shows almost every night... My husband and I stayed at the Jupiter for a long weekend and were really impressed with the property. The atmosphere was whimsical and the staff outstanding. They really go out of their way to make you comfortable and help you get the most out of your stay. A lot of reviewers mention the noise being an issue at night,... More

First, the good - very nice staff as all were pleasant and fun to chat with. The bar is not bad either and happy hour is always appreciated. The sad reality - if you want a 50s hotel that has had no updates beyond bad paint and the odd hipster tidbit, by all means pay way too much for that... More

Dear Movingallover, Thank you for staying with us and for providing your feedback. I am very glad that staff took good care of you, however I am sorry that your stay was louder than you wanted. Generally a night on the chill side is far different and I am confident you would find this to be true if you stayed... More

I stayed at the jupiter hotel for 3 nights while I visited portland, and was pretty happy with my stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful! The only few things that I didn't like was that there is no 2nd lock (safety lock) on the door. As a young female traveller I use an abuse these locks just to make... More

I took my entire work crew for a much needed man trip to Portland and stayed at the Jupiter on a friends recommendation. I was unlucky enough to get the first room next to the Doug Fir. It was loud and noisy all night with people laughing and drinking right outside my door. I couldn't sleep so I joined them... More

Dear Fred H, Thank you for your feedback, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay. The old adage applies I suppose, but more importantly, we have found that if we inform our guests of the vibe and atmosphere of the hotel, they are far more apt to have a positive experience. I am glad that yours was one... More

We read reviews online before picking the Jupiter. We drove from Seattle down to Portland and didn't arrive until after midnight. The night audit guy working FEB 24/25 was awesome. Thanks for all of the suggestions, we had a blast! We didn't have reservations and were offered a discounted rate for checking in after midnight. Rooms: On the smaller side,... More

The Jupiter was the perfect place to stay when we attended a concert at the Bossanova Ballroom. The room was perfect. The Doug Fir had great food and drinks. We will definitely be staying there again.

Dear Theresa S, Thank you for staying with us, I am very happy to hear that our location was so perfect for you. It just happens that most of the bars and restaurants in the area are within blocks, and as you found, we are a great base of operations if you are planning on visiting any of them. Thank... More

For $120/night this was great. Walking distance to everything, friendly and casual staff (without being unprofessional). Great rock club, bar and restaurant on premises. I ate in the restaurant 4x in 48 hours. Rooms are typical motel size but large enough for a 3-person meeting. Nicely appointed and very clean too. Def will be back but maybe for fun rather... More

A wag somewhere described the Jupiter Hotel as The Jetsons Meet IKEA. With an open mind you will love this place. Where else do you find earplugs, a copy of Dwell Magazine, two bottles of wine, and an <ahem> in your room? Our bed was delightfully comfortable and we slept sweetly. Doug Fir, the adjoining restaurant, is fantastic, especially for... More
