Conveniently located just across Burnside bridge from downtown, Jupiter hotel is a hip and happenin' hotel (former motor inn) with a cool vibe. NOT a hotel necessarily geared to FAMILIES. Think Artsy, Hipsters, Bands, Tatts. Eclectic art display. Hotel is popular location due to the associated Doug Fir Restaurant, bar and lounge. Great live music there several nights a week... More

I read loads of reviews prior to booking, so I knew that this place was a younger, hip, party hotel. Knowing this, we really enjoyed our stay. We came in SUPER early and they were able to let us check in at around noon (checkin is 4pm) and we were extremely appreciative as we had just come back from camping.... More

Dear Andrew N, Thank you for your time in giving us your feedback. My sister & I stayed here when she had to travel for work. I will start by saying the staff here is wonderful; really pleasant & helpful. The hotel is a fun idea. I appreciate that it was revamped as a hip place. I discovered upon this trip, however, that I am not hip. I prefer my comforts at this... More

This is not a chain hotel. It is a funky hotel (motel style) with affordable prices and a great restaurant and bar. The bar/patio area can get a bit rowdy, but is great if you enjoy a night out. If you like Marriott and Hilton type style/amenities then this isn't for you. If you love quirky and fun, it is.

Dear Boilerg, Thank you for such a thoughtful review. We completely agree with your estimation of the hotel and atmosphere we have on property, and we always want to make sure that our guests expectations are in-line with our hotel so that we can exceed the expectations rather than under-deliver on them. We hope very much to see you again... More

I stayed here for a night and wanted something that was close to shopping and food. The hotel is a charming one that i think used to be kind of dumpy but the way they have redecorated the rooms is fantastic. The hotel also has a bar/ restaurant right next to the lobby called the "Doug Fir", excellent food and... More

Staff at check-in were friendly and competent but not helpful. Room was dubbed a ""quiet room" meaning only that it was far away from the courtyard partying, but the room was anything but quiet. Neighboring rooms had loud partying, anti-Israel propaganda on the wall outside, smoking allowed right outside the rooms and going on all over the hotel....no help up... More

Taking a break from a work trip to Seattle, a few days in Portland (my first trip there) was on the agenda. The Jupiter seemed like an off-centre choice, which might go either way, when I was reserving and I, thankfully, took a leap of faith. Everything from free secure parking, pleasant receptionists, great on-site bar (The Doug Fir) and... More

Start with the pluses: 1) People at the desk are really nice and helpful. Service is great. 2) There are a ton of young people hanging around, which makes this a good place to stay if you want to meet other travelers. Also a great place for bachelor parties or other similarly rowdy groups. There is a 2:30am quiet time... More
