My corner 6th floor room at the Mark Spencer was perfect. Clean and quiet, comfortable King bed, nice city view, and kitchenette came in handy. I was out and about during the day, and it was just the right kind of refuge at night. I like the charm of older hotels, and this will suit you fine if you do... More

From check-in to check-out, and everywhere in between, every staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful, professional and simply willing to go the extra mile. A++ for customer service. I loved the extra perks, such as the complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon cookies. The room was spacious and very clean and the WiFi worked great. The location is just 2... More

Rooms are quite small, but clean an modern. Staff is friendly. Walls are very thin - could hear everything that was going on in room next door. Not good considering I had to wake up very early and they people in the next room had obviously been out partying. Front desk got them to quiet down after about 15min, unfortunately... More

I had a lot of fun here - wine and cheese free every afternoon makes for some happy campers ;) The location is very handy to everything downtown and there is a whole foods nearby for those who would like to do their own cooking. The room was a little dated and so I think a renovation will be needed... More

I stayed for three nights in a suite(got a better deal straight through the hotel site rather than priceline). The location is awesome. A block to Powell's, two blocks to either Jake's, two blocks to a whole foods so you can stock up the fridge, walking distance to Jimmy Maks, etc. The latte machine in the lobby is a great... More

Booked a junior suite, received a free upgrade. Travelling with sister and daughter . Best thing about the hotel was its proximity to Powell's Books, Whole Foods and the plethora of shopping, wandering, grazing that characerized our four days in Portland at the end of October.A great time to be there and to enjoy all the comforts the Mark Spencer... I was on a business trip and had to stay in the Beaverton Marriott the first night but booked The Mark Spencer hotel for the second night. Marriott was a complete disappointment but The Mark Spencer was the best booking I have done in the past year! I look carefully at the user reviews and location before booking and that... More

The Mark Spencer was a fabulous place to stay in the downtown core of Portland. Our room was perfect with a mini kitchen and wifi included. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back!

Take the tram from the airport to downtown and walk to your hotel. Stumptown coffee, Powell's bookstore, Pearl District, downtown all within SHORT walking. Breakfast included(Kenny and Zukes) Jewish deli across the street. Friendly staff. This hotel is in a 100 year old building and they are refurbishing the rooms. Portland is eclectic, vibrating and friendly city. Room was clean and... More

Great location and great staff, large rooms (we had a suite with kitchen), and decent rates (which include breakfast). This was our first visit to Portland, so we wanted a good base for walking to the many downtown Portland attractions, restaurants, and famous food trucks. The Mark Spencer certainly delivered on all counts! Staff are incredibly competent and friendly. It... More
