This is a small boutique hotel near the Pearl District. Walking to craft breweries and restaurants was easy. Simple breakfast is included. The room was on the small side but very nicely renovated. Nice staff!

Recently upgraded rooms in great location, near the Pearl, restaurants etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room, clean and well appointed. Wine tasting in the lobby. Convenient parking garage accessible by elevator from lobby. All in all, a good experience all around.

Oh, how I loved this hotel with its well-worn carpets and colourful décor. It was full of character and warmth, thanks to those carpets, décor and the rather wonderful staff. The walls of the corridors are lined with stills from various plays and projects that have taken place in Portland over the last few years. We stayed just over a... More

The Mark Spencer had everything we needed for a memorable experience of our first trip to Portland. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a nice room with a full kitchen. The hotel has underground parking, which is a big plus for Portland. Having said that, park the car and walk the beautiful streets of Portland, or take public... More

Overall, this is a decent hotel in wonderful neighborhood of shops, restaurants, coffee bars, all centrally located to downtown Portland. The hotel is undergoing renovations, consequently a bit noisy during the day, but quiet in the evenings. Staff is professional and friendly. Room was very clean and bright. Queen bed was superior although it dominated the bedroom and made sliding... More

I have stayed at the Mark Spencer hotel twice. Once in the hotel and once in the apartments. Both times the staff has been so warm and accomodating. The breakfast and wine tasting are wonderful and it has the feel of a cozy home away from home (which it was as I was here for an extended stay for work... More

Stayed in a junior suite (602) for three nights with my family. Service was courteous and professional. Room was very comfortable, especially the beds, and very quiet (as is Portland in general). Room was recently renovated, it appears, and has modern fixtures in kitchenette and bathroom, and really good TVs. A ten minute walk gets you pretty much everywhere, including... More

We stayed at the Mark Spencer Hotel after checking out of a real dive of a hotel nearby. The Mark Spencer was FANTASTIC. The most pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms are beautifully appointed and really really comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near the Pearl District and easy walking distance from just about everything. The hotel staff and the... More

The Mark Spencer is now on my short list for Portland hotels. Newly renovated rooms have boutique hotel quality, spacious and thoughtfully appointed. The renovation will be complete next year and over half the rooms are done and lovely--ask for a remodeled room. Easy parking below the hotel if reserved in advance. Easy walking distance to the Pearl District, Powells... More
