5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The hotel was just what we were looking for, good price great location and it was possible to walk to most places. Although we were in one of the older rooms it had all you would want so the new rooms must be really impressive. The breakfast, all day coffee and evening wine were all great touches.

We stayed for a week at this hotel. We had 6 rooms for our wedding party. The location was excellent, walking distance to so many great places and the max rail was only 3 blocks away. Our rooms were wonderful! Full kitchens, the beds very comfortable, everything very clean. The staff was awesome, so helpful with direction and helping with... More

Luckily, we had a renovated room, which we kept joking was better than our NYC/Hoboken apartments! Comfy and clean and well appointed. We settled right in--as if we lived there. We had the suite with kitchen, and did use the kitchen. The bathroom is small if you worry about such things (I don't, and don't understand why people do...). My... More

They are in the process of renovating the entire hotel and said it would be finished by summer 2016. We stayed there twice. First one hight in a king renovated room, then after six nights at the beach we came back and stayed 3 more nights in a king renovated room with kitchen. We especially liked the room with kitchen... This is a nice hotel in a great location in downtown Portland. My friends and I stayed there for a weekend in August. Unfortunately, we got off to a bad start when our rooms were not available when we arrived around 1:00 PM. The posted check-in time was not until 4:00 PM (which is late, right?). We understood that early... More

Like many of the other reviewers have mentioned the location is great here and if you are a foodie you have to stay here because the food carts are just a block away and in the evenings the food aromas are magnificent. The hotel itself nice, I had a corner room which consisted of a living room, kitchen and a... More

I've stayed at the Mark Spencer 3 times and have gotten good service every time. Plus, you walk out the front door and are 5-10 minutes from many great landmarks and eateries. Rooms vary from stylish to still-a-little-funky, but are typically spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and happy hour are nice if not awesome. I am disappointed that the MS seems... More

We stayed our first night in Oregon at the Mark Spencer and were completely satisfied. We took some advise from Trip Advisor reviews and asked for a renovated room which is what we received. The bed was so comfy, it seems it had extra pillow top cushion, I wish I could have taken it with us! The AC was good,... More

took a cab from the train station to the hotel - 10 bucks or so -- checked in early - room not ready - but they were good about storing our bags - lovely place - they have a coffee/latte machine in the lobby that runs 24/7 - the breakfast is nothing overly special -- pretty much all cold continental... Room was positively not worth the price. Was more like a motel room than a high class hotel. For the price much better to stay at a Hyatt, Marriott, etc. Not the best area in Portland. Nothing was really high class. Wine and cheese was a joke, have had more wine at a tasting. very disappointed in this hotel.
