We travel quite a bit, so we try and stay at local (non-box store) hotels whenever we can. The Heathman did not disappoint. Right when we pulled up we were greeted by a Beefeater - dressed in uniform from top to bottom. Incredible! We knew the Heathman was a local favorite and knew to expect a historic landmark, but this... More

The Heathman is one of Portland's best hotels. The hotel itself is a piece of history. The rooms are a combination of old world classic and modern elegance. They have a French press instead of a coffee maker which I found to be a nice touch! The staff provide nothing short of top notch service! They were so friendly and... More

I stayed at the Heathman to attend a workshop across he street at the Hilton. The Heathman is unlike any hotel I have had the pleasure to experience. Beyond the excellent amenities, comfort of my room, and delicious food....the people who work there are outstanding. They love people and they love their jobs ... you can tell in the way... More

The room was great...the location perfect if you are looking for a downtown hotel, but don't expect first class service from the employees. The bell staff does their best to look away when you approach and the guys spend more time socializing amongst themselves rather than help the guests. The front desk staff does the bare minimum when checking you... More

Room 317 (Symphony Suite) was a joke, as there was noise and vibration late at night (post 11pm) that woke us up. We were given NO GOOD REASON for such noise, which obviously was generated by something in the hotel. Instead we were given the runaround and a chance to move to a smaller room. This caused us to check... More

So it's a beautiful spring day here in the Pacific Northwest. And I check into my Symphony Suite at the Heathman, and none of the windows open!. It drives me crazy when I can't open a window in a hotel room. The room could use a good airing out. And come to think of it the hallways could too. The... More

Dear GolfGal2014, Thank you so much for taking the time out to give us a review. I am disappointed to hear that your windows during your stay did not open as all of our windows should be operational, it is one of the things I love about this old building, I am also sad to hear that it seems you... The hotel is in the heart of downtown Portland and is in a lovely historic building - we had sunny weather during our visit, but I imagine the library area off the lobby is very cozy on a rainy day. Our room was quiet and clean and about $150/night - I believe it was one of the smaller rooms (more... More

Had a lovely room, excellent service, and the food was superb as always. Unfortunately the desk drawer handle shredded the front of my new dress shirt, which made for an interesting day of business meetings. I sent management a note, including pictures, and heard NOTHING. Not even a "Sorry". I expected better.

Bed and pillows were great. Tea and coffee in the room with a bunch of stuff that if you take you are billed for. The room was obtained on Hotels.com and cheap. The room was small, probably because of the price. Close to everything. Has valet 40.00 to park overnight. Nice friendly staff that enjoyed their jobs. 24 hour concierge... More

The Heathman Hotel is one of the first luxury boutique hotels in Portland; approximately 30 years old, but has been well maintained. We were upgraded to the Fine Arts Suite where there were original pieces of artwork to enjoy. We were also impressed with the "lending library" on the Mezzanine level. You can take a tour (from 5:30 - 7... More
