Some business colleagues and I stayed for a few nights at University Place as we were hosting a small conference on site. From the moment we arrived it seemed we were on a set of Fawlty Towers. On heck in we found that they had four rooms booked for our party of three. No worries. We explained that we only... More

Here again my friends , I look for price and a comfy place to lay my head down and this is definitely a nice place.Very close to downtown and the lite rail and bus routes.A warm breakfast was a nice bonus. Some times people expect the Ritz hotel at the Motel 6 price . Come on people get a grip.

On the southwest end of downtown Portland by the Portland State University, which owns the hotel. The staff are congenial and helpful, and room prices are moderate compared to most other "City Center" hotels. Guests enjoy a substantial breakfast buffet with a variety of choices, which is served in the hotel's restaurant, the Lincoln Place Grill. IThe rooms are clean... More

The room is your average two-three star room. But don't stay here if you need to do business as there is no wifi in the room. They have an ethernet cable but last time I checked most phones and tablets don't accept a phone cord. Also, this hotel has the stupidest layout of any building I have seen. Miles from... More

So astoundingly mediocre in every way that they should come up with a new word for it. The only things to recommend it are very competent maids (who should be running the place!) and, well, that's all I got. Maybe the low price? But then, you do get what you pay for. The front desk has NO IDEA what is... More

We needed a dog-friendly location that was affordable near OHSU and this facility met our needs. It was very convenient to the expressway and to the Medical Campus. They gave us a University discount as my daughter was attending orientation there; she left quite early and I stayed with her dog. The people were friendly enough, though I didn't get... More

The price is an attraction at this location. For a downtown location it is very reasonable and includes a buffet continental style breakfast that is reasonable. There is an outdoor pool and a gym on site (we didn't use either but they were in use). The room is basic and clean. The hall carpets, stairs, elevators, ice machines are in... More

University Place Hotel is right next to PSU walking distance to the University and others. To include food carts and Chevron Gas Station. The rooms are a bit outdated but great if your looking for a reasonable hotel near the University. Facilities are gym, swimming pool, average restaurant nothing special. However the staff are friendly and helpful.

We were looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay while visiting relations in Portland and this fitted the bill admirably, and it was fairly centrally located. As the name implies it is on the edge of the the University campus and was taken over by the university from the Red Lion group some years ago. Our room was spacious and comfortable... More

For the location and the price, this hotel is good. The hotel is a bit tired and could do with being brought into the 21st century, but you get what you pay for. However, its close to the university, restaurants, and bars.
