Like the previous reviewer, I was expecting the worst of the worst before checking in. My wife and I were mentally preparing for a nightmare of a place. All that worrying was for nothing! Check-in and out were quick and easy, the front desk was helpful, and the clean room had all the basics. Did it have a giant flat... More

I read the reviews here and imagined all kinds of things. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and nice my room was with a free breakfast for less than $100. The location was nice, a pod of food truck on the next block, all kinds of public transportation to catch and an easy 15 minute walk to downtown. I... More

Me and my family went travelling through America in May 2015. Unfortunately this was a hotel we chose to stay in to save a little bit of money on our trip. The hotel front desk staff were the rudest people I have ever met. Pretty much ignoring you whenever you walked up to the front counter to ask anything. Anything... More

We only picked this place because of its proximity to our destination. We knew the reviews were awful and we were not disappointed. It really is an old, mostly dirty, run down hotel. Carpet in the room was so dirty you definitely didn't want to go barefooted. Bathroom (tub & toilet) was surprisingly clean. Well, except for the 3 places... More

I booked through Hotel.com which has always served me very well. Due to booking with my wife's credit card they would not honor the reservation despite a government ID card prooving my relation and despite my having made the reservation and having email confirmation with my exact name in my email address. They would not even cancel the reservation on... More

It looks that staying in a deluxe room makes the difference, according to the reviews. We stayed three nights in the middle of April and three more on April 30 and May 1 and 2. Hospital rate during these stays was $109. Includes breakfast and wifi. Parking is an additional $15 per night. First room had a microwave with outlets... More

I accompanied a friend to Portland for a medical appointment and she chose University Place because it was the closest hotel to the Marquam Hill campus. The facility is older but clean and with extra amenities that make it a more comfortable stay...a spacious lobby, cookies at check-in, wi-fi, a fitness center and lounge if you need to unwind. If... In the weeks before arriving I started getting paranoid due to all the poor reviews on the web and almost cancelled - but I am glad that I didnt. First; if you are booking into this hotel realise that you are paying for a budget hotel in a decent location and don't expect a 5-Star experience. Now while we didn't... More

I stayed here two nights to attend a conference at the convention center. The room was affordable, updated and clean and the hotel location is great. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you like to walk there is a nice urban pathway that leads to the central part of downtown with parks along the way, and walking to the... More

I only stayed here a night. WiFi is through the University and only available in certain areas. The room was clean. I don't think the building or rooms have seen an upgrade in over 25 years. The breakfast was included and was OK in dinning area. Parking was extra but convenient. The location was good for getting on and off... More
