Great place to stay if you need to be near OHSU. Older but clean hotel - very large with lots of rooms. Staff was friendly. they have Keurig's in the rooms with K-cups, very nice! Micro and fridges also. Limited choice on TV channels. If you are a particular about the comfort of your bed....you probably won't appreciate this location.... More

I stayed here two nights in January 2016 for a regional meeting for my horse organization. The Good: -Catering food quality was several notches better than typical, especially lunch and the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres. -Catering and bar staff were friendly and helpful. -There was plenty of room in the common areas we rented – nothing felt cramped. -The hotel... Hotel is right on the Tri-Met Line, which is especially good in rainy weather. Our interior room was quiet and well-appointed. Everything worked and it was nice to have a fridge and micro-wave. Complimentary breakfast included hot options, as well as pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. The staff kept the supplies fresh. Hotel could use some brighter lighting in hallways... More

The hotels in Portland are expensive in the most cases, but this one has a good rooms, large structures and is located in one the best neighborhood, in center of university. One the best choices for a good price

I wasn’t quite sure how to rate this property because really the only thing wrong with it is the very tired rooms and hallways. I originally had booked an “Economy” room and received a great price. The room was what I expected for something being advertised as such and I stayed the first night in it. I then upgraded to... More

This hotel is not safe to stay in. It's dark and dirty. Our room had stained carpets and food and empty water bottels on the floor .So the carpet does not get cleaned and we had a dirty tub/ shower. If you have kids with you it does not seem like to safe of place for them to go anywhere... More

the room was clean and had everything I expected it to have. I was happy with the firm mattress, which I prefer. breakfast minimal, but hot. great location if you need to be near downtown, and close to a bunch of food carts

The University Place Hotel and Conference Center is quite possibly the best travel surprise I’ve had in the past year. Don’t get too excited. If you’re not a value traveler with a low comfort bar, you may be disappointed. Luckily, I love a clean old school motor inn. The University Place is that and a whole lot more. The hotel... More

This was a really convenient hotel, clean, comfortable and convenient for exploring Portland. We enjoyed the delicious "check-in cookies", and found the reception staff to be really helpful, giving advice as to how best to get into town and explore the area.

Everything is good about this hotel, but if you want to use their WiFi, consider another place. At most hotels, if you want to use the WiFi, they give you a password, you log on, and you're set. Some don't even require a password. At this hotel, there was a complicated system in which you have to get things started... More
