The Bluebird is a clean, well-kept old Craftsman-style house with reasonably spacious rooms and comfortable dining/living areas for eating self-prepared or continental breakfast. It's in a residential neighborhood, but one with quite a few very good restaurants (and a brewpub) within easy walking distance. To visit downtown Portland, you'll need to drive, so it all depends on what you're looking... more

My sister and I went on a roadtrip and were on a budget so we decided to stay here in one of the basement rooms and didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. The house is so beautiful and well maintained with a big, sunny kitchen and a porchswing in the front and lots of space in the house to... more

I stayed at the Bluebird 2 weeks on moving to Portland and couldn't have wished for a better introduction to the city. (I think I was thNeone that introduced "East Voast Fsl" to the guesthouse!) Division/Hawthorne is a great location because of all the small coffee places and restaurants and if you want the real feel of Portland. Very easy... more

This was the first place my husband and I booked for our trip to Portland, because I'd heard so many good things about it. It was full for the first of our four nights here, so we stayed at the Ace Hotel downtown, then moved to the Ken Kesey room at the Bluebird. I'm glad we did it that way,... more

The Bluebird Guest House is very clean, simply decorated, and has a lot of space. It's a great place for those traveling on business who want something more than a sterile hotel room, or for visitors who have been to Portland and know their way around. My husband and I stayed here during a summer cross-country trip. We stayed in... more

My husband and I stayed at the Bluebird Guesthouse the last night of our vacation in Oregon and northern California. If we had only known how relaxed and comfortable we felt during our short stay---we would have certainly changed our itinerary and included more time here. The Bluebird Guesthouse is a charming house in the Southeast section of Portland, OR.... more

I spent four nights in the Raymond Carver room. It is a small room, but extremely well-appointed. There were hooks to hang clothes and a small closet with suitcase rack. It was cute and clean. The value was beyond belief. I was somewhat skeptical of the shared bathroom situation, but it worked out great; I never had to wait. The... more

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Portland for our Spring Break and were thrilled to find a reasonably priced place to stay at the Bluebird. I looked up loads of pictures of the Bluebird guesthouse before we visited to know what to expect, but it was more beautiful and more welcoming than I could have believed! The arts... more

This place has a great kitchen, computer with internet, laundry in the basement, lots of charm. There are 3 or 4 shared bathrooms for the 7 guest rooms. Very reasonably priced. One block to a nice local cafe. If only there were a place like this in every town. more

I cannot speak highly enough of the Bluebird Guesthouse. My girlfriend and I stayed in the Ken Kesey room (which had a great early-morning view through the sky light) for the first two nights of our road trip up the northwest coast. The Bluebird offers a variety of rooms, most of which share bathrooms (this did not cause a moment... more
