Loved our large suite. Jake's Bar happy hour was a bargain. Jake's restaurant for breakfast was fantastic. On the weekend they serve their special bacon soaked in maple syrup and pecans, it was heavenly. Our server Linda, was the greatest!!! She was friendly, charming, made the entire meal a delight.

Drove through Portland on a convertible trip. Decided to stay at the Governor Hotel where we've had 5 wonderful previous stays. Turns out...it is now the remodeled Sentinel. A loud bar/lounge has been added. The already small rooms have been painted so dark you feel like you're in a shoe box. Very pricey for room size. Will try a different... More

Got back from a long weekend at the Sentinel (Fri-Mon) and am really glad that we didn't stay at the original hotel I booked. Loved the decor of the Sentinel. DECOR: They did a really good job renovating what needs to be and keeping with the vintage charm without being "too old and worn down." LOVED the green room doors... More

Had an unexpected trip to Portland. Needed to spend the night so was looking for a last minute booking. Found the Sentinel and was happy we did. Fun boutique hotel in great location between the Pearl district and downtown. We easily walked to both areas. Room was good sized and nicely decorated. One caution is that parking is $39/night. Will... More

As we were just passing through Portland we grabbed a spot at the Sentinel and we were more than pleasantly surprised. It was an older building with lots of charm but extremely well maintained and clean. Surrounded by lots of fun dining spots including its own bar, restaurant and a Starbucks in the lobby it made early morning departure a... More

I price lined this place last minute after hiking all day near the gorge. It looked nice on line but I had no idea. When we were checking in we mentioned we were there on our honeymoon. They upgraded us to the business level floor. It included free snacks and drinks but most impressive was the room. The bed was... More

Staying 1 night back in July. The location is really good for exploring downtown. You can walk to most places. It has a starbucks that serves wine and cheese on site. However the famous Stumptown coffee is only two blocks away at the Ace hotel. This is a boutique hotel and the room is decorate very nicely to fit the... More

Enjoyed an overnight stay at the Sentinel with my grown son who had never been to Portland. Everyone was courteous, professional and accommodating. We brought extra snacks for our Train ride from Seattle and needed to have them refrigerated. They actually brought a fridge to our room! The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a modern vibe! As an artist,... More

The hotel is perfectly fine. The staff was pleasant, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, it was crazy expensive for what felt like a very basic room. I paid 800 bucks (per night) for the top of the line room (bridgeport boys suite) and it felt so basic that I downgraded to get what I felt... More
