This is by far the best budget motel I've stayed at. The owners are constantly around to assist. The rooms appear to be recently renovated. The bed was better than what I have at home! It's in close proximity to the university and the Light rail, street car, and bus stops are all within two blocks (and Portland's blocks are... More

Stayed for one night. Parking was only 10$, the room was clean and surprisingly pleasant. Close to street cars stops to take you further into downtown for free.

Several times we've come to Portland, Oregon, and stayed at a motel that was OK for the price, a few maintenance issues, close to Portland State U and downtown, but hard to walk across busy arteries and bridges. Every time, we'd walk past Econo Lodge and say, fantastically better location but probably costs a lot more. On the last trip... More

The city center Econo Lodge is a great value for downtown Portland. The hotel is smaller, in a safe and convenient location to downtown and public transit. Our room was very clean and in good condition with a comfortable bed and good sheets. Bigger, thicker towels would be a great, but that's probably asking too much for an Econo Lodge.... More

I'll be honest: I read "Econo Lodge" and I frown. However, I read the positive reviews on here and decided to risk staying here. I'm glad that I did. Clean rooms, cheap price, and genial and helpful service. Can't ask for much more than that for a night's stay. This place is on par with some Comfort Inns or Quality... More

I was in Portland this week for a couple of days with my parents who needed to be near OHSU hospital. We chose this Econo Lodge because of its location and because of the positive reviews we read on Trip Advisor. We were glad we did. The motel was very nice, extremely clean, the owners were very helpful and pleasant... More

Although you won't get the amenities you'd expect at a Hilton or Marriott .... this is a first rate motel. I only booked here because I had friends that were staying here .... and probably wouldn't have otherwise. I'm a frequent "hoteler" and normally stay at Hilton properties. I was beyond pleasantly surprised with this property. The owner / managers... More

Easy to find right off freeway. Friendly reception, easy check in. Small room but lots of shelf space for cases, etc. A/C worked very well in 92 degree heat! Fridge, microwave in room. Comfortable beds. A little old and worn but very suitable for our needs. Easy walk to downtown or near train and streetcar. Parked right outside our unit... More

It looks a bit in need of renos from the outside but this simply contributes to it being a very good deal for lodging in central Portland. The rooms are nice and clean and the location is right next to the free streetcars that service the downtown core. The owners are helpful in the extreme with all the directions and... More

1. Room was well equipped with micro-wave, coffee-maker, fridge, shower , bath tub and all that one needs , when away from home. 2. The complimnetary break-fast was really satisfying without any restrictions on the quantities. 3. The owner couple was very friendly indeed and helped you in your travel directions and local sight-seeing etc. 4. There was quick response... More
