We were given a room on the ground level. It was pretty quiet, but we also got there late. The room was clean and management was nice. The beds were comfortable. WiFi was a little temperamental but it's free. My only real complaint was that I was overcharged by about $3.00 which wasn't worth fighting about after 15+ hours of driving... More

I admit that I am normally a cheap traveller and I do not like to spend a lot of money on hotels. But the Palms motel offers a great value for your money. The position is great, the staff is kind and very, very nice. Finally, the room was pretty quite and clean, too. I highly recommend it!

Chose this central location for its convenient access to Portland's MAX tram service - the nearest stop is very close. Very clean; non-smoking room; comfortable large bed; good (and necessary) air conditioning; free wi-fi; good towels; good coffee maker; consistent hot water - thus meeting all my requirements as a base of operations for my visit to Portland, with the... We stayed at the Palms for 4 nights. The room & Bathroom were clean, Great Bed, and nicely updated. The rooms are a little small, however when you put a King bed in an ordinary room? It is in an area in Transition and the surrounding neighborhood can be a little sketchy at night. We had no trouble though and... More

Made a last minute trip to Portland on a Friday. Got a $70 rate- very much on the cheap side- so I wasn't expecting much. When I first entered I noticed the parking lot area needs some up-keep, the coin laundry room was a mess, and a few loiterers were hanging around. Right then I though I made a mistake.... More

Any hotel that was still available over the Columbus Day weekend, and that was close to downtown or the Northwest and Pearl districts, were really pricey. This motel seemed to be the best option, in terms of the location, price and the reviews that I read. When we first arrived, it looked kind of seedy and we wondered what sort... More

Ok, you get what you pay for here. It was cheaply priced, clean enough, except for the carpet (no bare feet for me) within walking distance to restaurants and bars, AC worked well. Refrigerator . Management friendly. Stayed one night with a large group of friends. It was sufficient for our needs.

We stayed here for a total of four nights while on a road trip through Washington and Oregon. While it is nothing special, it was clean, service was friendly and the location right beside the yellow line meant that we could get in and out of the city quickly and cheaply. Laundry room was an added asset. Recommend if all... More

Coming to Portland on a weekend in the summer and trying to book at the last minute put us in a pinch. The Palms Motel was one of the only--if not the only--option less than $250 per night (not joking) that was actually still within the city itself. PROS: Location is pretty good! On the Yellow MAX line, as well... More

I was recently on an Oregon road trip, and I decided to spend a few nights in Portland. I chose the Palm Motel, and I sure am glad that I did! Excellent value, nice room, very convenient to the MAX line. I did not want to spend a lot on a place to stay, but I wanted the place to... More
