We recently spent four nights at Nordic Motel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The owners and staff are friendly, professional and gracious. The motel was in a great location for us and the rooms are newly updated, very cute and very clean. We had everything we needed and the coffee was delicious and ready each morning before 7:00. I... Parts of Portland sadly have not aged gracefully, but here the innkeeper has created a motel for any traveler to take a break. The single non-smoking room I had was very clean and nicely appointed. Ceramic foyer with a decent commercial grade olefin carpeting in the room. The queen size bed was very comfortable with memory pillows. (Nice touch) The... More

Having a late night flight out of Portland, and hubby having a Dr. appointment early the the next morning at the VA hospital, I was looking for something close to the Airport but with easy access back to I-5, we had stayed at a couple different ones close to 205, but they are older and getting a bit run down,... We travel to Portland a few times every year and were looking for a reliable, clean place to stay at a good price. I think we have found it in the Nordic Motel. It is located east of the airport on the old highway to Mt. Hood—not really convenient to any of the Portland hot spots like the Pearl District,... More

If you're looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay near PDX, go no further! The Nordic Motel was furnished nicely and really clean. Your room will also have cable to go with the nice flatscreen TV and DVD player, as well as a small refrigerator and microwave oven and free Wi-FI. Definitely a great value and friendly staff. Recommended!

The price is a good deal for Portland. The rooms are small, clean, excellent mattresses, linens and pillows and bathroom facilities. Refrigerator, microwave, CD player and DVD player in the room.No extras but everything good quality and functioning. An excellent fan/AC/heat system. And this is necessary. Because it is on Sandy Boulevard. There is lots of traffic, trains pass by... More

My husband and I were invited to a wedding in Portland in late September. We were undecided if we were going to stay with family or get a hotel/motel room. We waited to long to book with the wedding party at a downtown motel so the prices were down right ridiculous by the time we decided. I pulled my trip... More

Loud loud train whistle, then rumble rumble for hours. Thin wall, loud alarms, vomit smelling pillow, shouting manager refused to return deposit, higher price than advertised, no cutlery or plates or cooking implements of any kind, dangerous neighborhood. I could go on and on.

I was planning on spending a few nights in Portland and initially looked at hotels in the City centre. Their prices are outrageous. Then I discovered the Nordic Motel. Glamorous it isn't. But it's clean, quiet and inexpensive. The staff are charming and accommodating. Warning, if you opt for the Nordic a car is a necessity. For breakfast I suggest... More

After a couple nights at the Residence Inn, we were done with the conference and off to spend a couple days in Portland. Whipped out an app to see where we should stay. High rankings both here and Yelp, coupled with the close proximity to the airport sealed the deal. Found it nestled in an older suburban area, on a... More
