We stayed at the Monticello for two nights (7/18 and 7/19). While the look is dated, it's well kept and clean. (The exterior landscaping and flower pots really brighten up the place. Nice touch.) Our room had the essential amenities: fridge, microwave, coffee maker, big screen TV-- and wifi, which was reliable and fast. (We thought they didn't have a... More

Would not normally stay in a motel but all the positive reviews intrigued me and went out on a limb and booked a 3 night stay. Turned out to be a very pleasant experience from several perspectives. It is one level and each room has its own parking spot that you can back into and directly unload you vehicle into... More

The price is the best part about this place. I needed a place to rest for the night and did not want to spend much. Furthermore wanted to the place not far from portland. The location is good and the rooms were clean enough. Wifi was good.

I mailed the motel --using the link on their website-- twice asking for the possibility of booking a room in May 2015. I didn't receive any answer. So , sorry : no positive rating whatsoever! Even if there is no reservation possible ,be at least so polite to mail me "we're full"

I stayed in Portland for several weeks in late 2014/early 2015 and was fortunate to have chosen the Monticello Motel. The room was very clean and well-equipped, and the surroundings were quiet. It's located just over the bridge from downtown Portland, in the north side of town, which certainly felt safe. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and the night... More

I stayed at the Monticello Motel for two nights in October 2014. Had a great time. The motel's location is great, and the MAX train (I think that's how it's called) has a station at a short walking distance. I love motels with a parking spot for every room right next to the door, as this one has. The room... More

This family owned motel is a hidden gem near downtown Portland. The rooms are clean, beds extremely comfortable, strong internet connection, cable TV, and clean on-site washer/dryer. The location is across the street from the light rail in a safe neighborhood. There is always someone available in the office and they take pride in their motel and helping their guests.... More

What a wonderful surprise. This historic hotel is in a cute, friendly, small town. Our two bedded room was quiet and clean (first one that did not have stuff under the bed) The beds were extremely comfortable, the air conditioner worked very well and wasn't noisy, water pressure great, the staff were kind and wifi is free. There is a... More

I have stayed in a lot of motels and hotels in and around Portland but this is by far my favorite. There were beautiful flowers outside my door, a clean room, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, sink, 2 sets of dishes, dish towel & soap, a stove, pan & spatula, 2 sets of silverware, a nice size table, good decor... We stayed here for one night in a queen bed room. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could want and there is a tram stop a short walk away. Still, the best thing about this place is the super friendly staff. We felt very welcomed and at home.
