The pros and cons of my stay have already been given in the previous reviews. There are definately more pros than cons. The only thing I found a con was the smell of the carpet. The air con worked well in the room I stayed in (loud but hey at least we were cool). We weren't in much - there... more

After reading previous reviews of the Washington Park Inn, I must say I was a little apprehensive about staying there. Here are the pros and cons I found during my 3-night stay there in July 2008: Pros were numerous. Nice safe & scenic neighborhood, within close walking distance to great shopping and restaurants on NW 23rd and NW 21st. We... more

The location is perfect, near NW 21stAve with a lot of restaurants and near downtown. We had a double room on the second floor (with the city view). If it's a sunny day the room could be too hot,. The air conditioning doesn't work really well, we had to open the window to refresh the room (I think that works... more

The location is perfect and parking is included. The room was very basic, but is totally functional for a PDX crash pad for a weekend or whatevs. I am pretty laid back about crappy motel rooms - as long as there is hot water, clean sheets, and a door that locks, I'm cool. But, if you are a fancy-schmancy person,... more

My wife and I are far from picky travelers. In fact we seek out the older mom and pop motels, and much prefer them, warts and all, over the chain places. Washington Park Inn was probably constructed in the 60's. As others have mentioned, the location is great. We stayed on the upper floor in the back, and had a... more

This hotel is in a great location but that is about all it has going for it. I will say things were fairly clean but it was a real dive. Our floor had a small hole in an area where the floor was rotting, the curtains were stained and it smelt very musty. For 50 dollars a night its a... more

I had read others' reviews of the Washington Park Inn before we stayed there, and am really glad I did. When a hotel stay is as cheap as this place ($39/night in the middle of August, 2007), I'm usually afraid that it's going to be skanky or a house of drugs/prostitution/crime. But it's totally NOT! As others have said, the... more

This place is old and plain. The location is great! We stayed two nights at the start of a two week vacation and again for two nights at the end. It was clean, safe and cheap. more

Frozen in time ... but it was the worst of times, I'm afraid. Just the facts: no window screens, blackened air conditioner filter, grimy carpet, moldy bathtub, broken furniture, leaky shower, stained mattresses and transparent sheets and towels. The continental breakfast was a shelf of stale pastries and weak coffee. On a more positive note, it is worth every penny in... more

How does this hotel survive in this neighborhood! It is located on the edge of the most beautiful residential/park neighborhood in Portland (Washington Park with Rose Test Garden, Japanese Gardent, Zoo and Children's museaum), but the hotel itself is old and run down (they do clean it). But it's only $50/night for two including tax! So if you want a... more
