Rooms are spacious and like the whole building decorated in bright colors. The streetcar station is just outside the door and tickets are freely available at the front desk.

As this and many other reviewers have noted, the streetcar tickets are free (and so is the parking). So when you head out for the day, leave your car in the parking lot and jump on some of the country’s best public transportation! Thanks for the review. More

Very colorful lobby and rooms. Very quirky though. Bathroom is way too small for two people. Stand alone, air conditioner unit was annoying and worked just o.k. Closet is miniscule. Just a bar in an alcove on one of the walls. Worst part of entire experience is the thin doors, paper-thin walls and thin ceilings. Stayed on first floor and... More

Ok, so for you the taffy, colors, kitchen, and most of the staff = good. Bathroom and closet size, AC, noise, and a single staff member = not so good. While we hope to please every one of our guests in all these areas, it seems we missed the mark a bit for you. Rest assured that we take all... More

Stayed here two nights, and had a lovely time. Inn staff is helpful and friendly, room is decorated with wonderful colors and has an unique vibe. Great access to pearl and downtown on light rail, tickets are free at front desk. Our suite was well stocked with everything requires to cook a simple pasta dinner one night when we decided... More

Sometimes staying in is the best move to make even with all of the amazing restaurants nearby; you get to relax and feel at home in the hotel (and save some money too!). Thank you for the review and we hope to see you again! More

When looking for a place to stay in Portland, many of the more centrally located, downtown hotels looked rather dull and boring. So, I was pleased to come across the Inn at Northrup Station on Tripadvisor. Normally, I wouldn't be interested staying in residential neighborhood a little removed from the center of the city. But the many positive descriptions on... More

Any time we see a review that says we’ll be someone’s first choice when returning to Portland, we smile some very big smiles. Then we have hot cocoa and dance around to our "Awesome 80’s" Pandora station! Ok, so maybe not that last part, but the smiles are definitely happening. Thanks for the review and we’ll see you next time! More

Our family (mom, dad, 7yo daughter) stayed at the Inn at Northrup Station over spring break, primarily based on recommendations from TripAdvisor. Once again, the recommendation did not disappoint. The location was great, just a couple of blocks off of upbeat, funky 23rd Avenue. We ate at great restaurants either on or near 23rd three times during our stay, and... More

A pool and spring break do go hand-in-hand, but isn’t your daughter a little young to be in college? ;) But in all seriousness, thank you so much for the kind review. We do strive to be universally friendly and helpful, as you said, and we’re glad you got to experience the hotel, the neighborhood, and plenty of other great... More

The rooms are a good size and contain a kitchenette. The Hotel offered free tram passes. They held a party for a solar eclipse which was top rate. One small quibble was that they rolled up the breakfast service at 9:30 rather than 10:00.

Wasn’t the eclipse amazing? It’s great that you were here for it! And with the exception of the waffle maker and mix, here’s a bit of a secret for all you Trip Advisor folks: if you ever miss breakfast and know what you want, just ask at the front desk. We’ll be happy to oblige. Cheers! More

Our suite accomodation was huge! The king size bed was not dwarfed by the room; in fact, it had three more living spaces including a living area, a desk/office area, and a kitchen with full-size appliances including place settings for serving dinner. But why cook in the room with all those quaint shops in Nob Hill only steps from the... More

So glad you were able to join us for one of our wine reception nights! We like to mix it up with fun events as often as possible, although we certainly understand that the hotel is where you typically end up AFTER going out and experiencing one or more of the many fun things that Portland has to offer. Thank... More

Great hotel - decor was really cool and not your everyday, boring hotel. Staff was great and you can beat free breakfast and free parking. They also gave free passes for the street car - major plus! Next time I go to Portland I'll be staying here!

My visit to the Inn at Northrop Station was full of pleasant surprises. The location is great, in Northwest Portland, a bustling "yuppie" neighborhood with upscale shops and restaurants and quiet, tree-canopied streets. It's secluded enough to provide a cozy respite from a busy visit to Portland, yet close enough to the action that you're never more than a few... More

What can we say that hasn’t been said in this review!? Thank you for giving fellow Trip Advisor-ens a glimpse of both the hotel and the many things to do here in Portland, which is most certainly a pleasant city, as you said. Any time you want to come back through our fair city, you know where to find us! More

The Inn at Northrup Station's in the wonderful ABC District of Portland, a bit northwest of downtown. With free parking and free MAX transit passes, and a trolley line right in front of the hotel, you can leave your car (if you have one) and breeze around Portland. That said, you don't need to leave the neighborhood at all -... More

Free wi-fi, free parking, free taffy, free breakfast, free streetcar tickets… we certainly seem to like to give things away! But that’s part of what makes The Inn so special--and you mentioned plenty of the other reasons as well. So thank you for your review and for choosing to stay with us. We can’t wait to have you back!
