I stayed in a spacious, third-floor, king-bed “suite” for two nights in late October 2009. Making the reservation and checking in and out were easily conducted, and the front desk staff could not have been more accommodating. The inn’s funky décor did not compromise room upkeep, comfort and number of amenities, including two flat-screen TVs, comfortable king-size bed, and fully... more

Stayed at Inn Northrup Station for several days last March, The funky decor is fun. Loved the flat-screen TVs; the free WiFi; free parking; the fully equipped kitchen; & the location--right on the streetcar line but also within walking distance to the restaurants & shops in the neighborhood. Great value. I would definitely stay here again. This place should have... more

I echo all the positives of previous postings but really wanted to compliment the excellent service I received. After reading some of the older posts, I was a little concerned - but I've interacted with many different employees over my 6 day stay and all were fantastic! Friendly, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. Perhaps they had problems with service in the... more

After six days you certainly get to know almost everyone here and we’re thrilled you had such a positive (dare we say, “super-mega-awesome”?) stay. We’ve worked hard to tie up any loose customer-service ends and it’s postings like these that let us know we’re doing our job. Come back any time, we’ll be here!

I've been coming to Portland quite a few times in the past year--this marks my fourth time. So, this is pretty much a repeat review--Northrup Station offers fabulous accommodations: a fun, roomy, "chicly" (is that a word?) decorated suite, great breakfast treats, knowledgeable, friendly, and totally accommodating staff! Northrup Station ROCKS! more

No, RebelTraveler, YOU rock. And we’re of the mind that making up words is perfectly acceptable. If and when you care to make us a five-time destination, we’ll be ready to rock once more (quietly after 9pm, of course).

Fantastic!

I very much enjoyed my two-night stay, my second stay at the hotel. The room was clean, spacious and nicely appointed--a refreshing surprise given the competitive rates this hotel offers. The kitchenette was a very welcome addition to the room--perfect for prepping snacks and light meals. The room featured a sitting area and a desk with a 32" flat panel... more

I stayed here a week ago and its a cool place. Funky colors, retro, and nice. It was definately something different than your run off the mill, cookie cutter hotel. The room was spacious, king bed, purple couch, and I had a patio facing the main street. Two TVs in the room, kicthenette, and a desk to work. Walking distance... more

What a fabulous surprise! While planning a short business trip to Portland, I was looking for something out of the ordinary this time. I have stayed in outstanding B&Bs in and around Portland but I was in the mood for the Boutique District of Nob Hill this time. I did a little Google search and found Northrup Station. The colors... more

...and the first time was absolutely fine and fun. We loved the vibrant vibe the decor inspires. Whoever did the interior design knows how to make people happy. Last time we got a room facing away from the street for fear of street noise as streetcars in SF can make your flat shake like a miniscule earthquake. This time, as... more

You stay in this hotel for the wonderful and classy area of town it is in, not the hotel itself. I was there on business and the hotel itself is not a business hotel, but the area is unbelievable! There are a number of chain hotels in the area, but most of those are on the main drags in areas... more

This really should be a great hotel. Ideal location, cool design, large rooms, but the hotel management just don't seem to pay attention to detail. I've stayed at the Inn at Northrup Station many times and have passed my comments on to the employees many times but they just seem to ignore input from thier guests. Plus, I see many... more
