First I must say this is not your average hotel, and don't expect a brand name - hotel chain type feel. This is a funky hotel, with a very colorful past that must be part of your experience here. Consider this a very unique hotel, one that you may never come across again, but trust me it is worth the... More

Lovely and fun rooms. Totally unique, great staff. Gorgeous soaking pool downstairs (children welcome before a certain time). A little bit noisy from another bar downstairs, but comfy beds and charming rooms.

Maybe we are too spoiled with the comforts in a hotel. Having to share a restroom down the hall is too inconvenient when your over fifty. Air conditioning a plus but no TV bummer. Big city noise making sleep difficult. I guess we are too spoiled. Hotel clean but not worth the inconveniences. I'd rather be comfortable. I am on... More

This is THE place for those who want a full dose of the Portland vibe. One of a kind setting, quirky in the best sense of the word. An adventure in every corner and each room unique. Great location and terrific staff. The soaking pool was a blessing after long morning hikes and/or biking. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Multiple... More

All of the McMenamins hotels are a little different, so you can't go expecting a Hilton. However, this one is so unique and fun. Great, friendly staff. Interesting decor. Typical McMenamin's food and drink. Great place to land after a concert!

A great wAy to experience Portland! Just like the city, it is clean, quirky, artsy, and inspiring. This is an experience. This is a great building, with fun and inviting venues. Enjoy a good patio, a cold beer, a meal , and even a hot soaking pool . Beds are comfy, clef and cozy. Street noise, and parking are a... More

We really enjoyed our visit. Great location to walk around near food trucks. One block from Powell bookstore. Very clean rooms and spotless bathrooms. Beds are only full size (yuk). Sink in room. Friendly staff. Let us check in 3 hrs early.

I take the train from Seattle to Portland to watch bands that do not come up North. The Crystal is walking distance to PDX rail and usually walking distance to the venue. It is an unique experience and unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in. Do not let the "Funky" moniker scare you it is very clean and well... More

Funky and staffed by hip, young VERY friendly people, it's also one off the most reasonable stays in Portland. I loved this property so much, I found myself taking all my meals and libations there instead of exploring. Great location, it's easy to get to any Portland neighborhood from here. I won't stay anywhere else!

We were looking for a place to stay in the Pearl District and we were on a budget. This place was almost perfect. First of all, parking in the PD sucks. They have a place outfront where you can load in. The front desk offers a few options including a 24 hour parking garage for 25 bucks. I chose street... More

Located just across the street from the legendary Crystal Ballroom, the Crystal Hotel has 51 comfortable guestrooms, each inspired by a song or performance from the Crystal Ballroom's past 100 years.
