I've written a more detailed review about the Crystal from a previous stay in August 2013 for information and amenities. This review is for a stay April 10th 2014 for one night. It is my third stay at the Crystal Hotel. I also stayed October 2013 while attending a Halloween Ball at the Crystal Ballroom. We've been in the Wake... More

For our honeymoon, one of our stops was Portland, and I decided on the Crystal Hotel because it looked cute, weird and fun - as well as being affordable. Slap bang in the middle of downtown Portland, we stayed in the Arcade Fire room and we loved it. It was constantly in a state of semi-darkness, which may annoy some... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. You have to be ready for something a bit different as we stayed in a small, adorable room with no bathroom (the bathroom was across the hall and always empty, but not in the room). Absolutely cute cute cute room though! And the bathroom though shared was extremely clean and well cared for with... More

So, it's great if you're going to just pass out. But if you want to get a good nights sleep, forget it. The beds are terrible, the street noise is horrible. A fight even broke out right outside our door at 3 am. Live and learn.

Super Jules, I truly apologize for all that went wrong during your stay. These things aren't normal to our hotel. Fighting, is completely out of place here... We strive to make everyone's experience unforgettable, however, in the best way, not the worst. I appreciate your review, good or bad, and while we work to correct things mentioned in this review,... We stayed just one night at the Crystal Hotel, wish it was longer. I had read some of the reviews prior to booking and noticed that there were a few comments about the noise from the street. We were pleasantly surprised when this was not our experience, in fact there was very little noise. The hotel itself was a delight,... More

We had such a wonderful stay here. Its a bit funky, but that's what we like. The location is fantastic and the front desk staff were sooo very helpful. The bathrooms were spotless and we never saw another person on our floor. The soaking tub was perfect, and what a surprise it was to hear great music in the bar.... More

My husband and I spent one evening at the Crystal Hotel and enjoyed spending an evening enjoying downtown Portland. We parked our car in a parking garage just a block and a half away, checked in, enjoyed a little wine in our room and hit the town. We walked to the Portland City Grill, it was chilly this time of... Okay, sure: you have to share a bathroom (there are a few on each floor). But the price and the gorgeous rooms at this place more than make up for that! Each room has a band theme; ours was Arcade Fire, with lyrics painted on the walls. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean (albeit small), and the shared... More

I recently stayed at the Crystal hotel after a friend recommended it. It was great for a quick stay in Portland. If you're looking for something funky/unique, reasonably priced, and with a good location, this hotel is a good option. You'll have to share a bathroom/shower area (robes are provided), but they were very clean and private. The street noise... More
