We love staying at the Lion and the Rose... the staff is great, the local restaurants are fabulous. We go to Portland to see music venues like the Wonder Ball room, Alberta Rose Club, and they are very close to this B & B. The beds and bedding are excellent. This is our 3rd trek staying here and will continue... More

I have stayed at the Lion and the Rose on numerous occasions, but have never written a review for them. The B&B is delightful. Tastefully furnished rooms with luxurious linens and towels. Comfortable sitting areas. The Lloyd Center area has so much to offer from shopping to dining .. and only a short MAX ride to downtown. Steve and Dusty... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lion and Rose B&B. The breakfasts were out of this world, the room and bed very comfortable, and the hosts superb! Very pleasant alternative to hotel. Being in this beautiful house is a real treat.

The Lion and the Rose Victorian B.&B. proved to be as lovely as the glowing reviews claimed it would be. This spacious and grand house truly made us feel like we were stepping into another era. We loved staying on the first floor in the Rose Room. Knowing that it was the bedroom of the original owner added to the... More

We are always gratified when we receive a review like this. Meeting our guest's needs is what a B&B is all about. Breakfast with the guests is my favorite time of day. Running a B&B is like having a sidewalk through your living room. We meet so many wonderful people. More

I could not stop smiling during our stay. This place is immaculate down to the tiny details. Even the grounds and statuary outside blew us away. The owners were so kind, accommodating and friendly. We felt very welcome. We enjoyed a wonderful Thai meal just a short walk down the street. In the morning we took a long walk throughout... More

Thanks for your kind words. We are blessed with a great location. Just to our south is the Lloyd Center Business District with many sops, restaurants cafes (including Chai Yo for Thai food), Oregon's largest mall built around an indoor skating rink, and a MAX light rail stop. To our north is the Irvington Historic District, originally Portland's first street... More

This was our second visit and equally enjoyable as our first. Location is great for walking to good restaurants, and we loved the wonderful antiques that are thoughtfully displayed for the enjoyment of the guests. We've had great conversation and excellent breakfasts. The innkeepers provide high quality linens and spa shower lotions/shampoos. We stayed in the Lavonna room and enjoyed... More

I recently stayed at this inn in October. We stayed in the Lavonna room which was very spacious and had a sleep number bed. It was a little loud because of the traffic in the mornings but definitely manageable. Breakfasts were wonderful and filling. Our hosts were extremely friendly and great to chat with. Guests have access to a fridge... More

Thanks for your review. The Lavonna room is very beautiful. It is located on a corner and, as we indicate on our website, it has more street sound then other rooms. Most guests don't really notice the street sound. For guests who are sound sensitive we recommend the Garden Room, he Escapade Room. More

First sight and old-world charm of this grandiose home is seductive. We found the location ideal, an important building in the historic part of the city yet just one small block from restaurants and shops. We only stayed for two nights in the Victorian basement appartment and did not take breakfast, but did take advantage of the generous supply of... More

Thanks for taking the time to write. In renovating the Victorian Apartment we had to choose whether to "box in" the heating pipes which are the original and current hot water heating system for the house. We decided to leave them exposed and paint them in a brass color -- a "Captain Nemo" look. It is true that there are... More

The home is beautiful inside and out. It is well-maintained and tastefully decorated. Although it is situated in a residential area in the City, it is on a street serviced by City buses and is quite noisy. Even after pulling down the shades, our room had a lot of street light filtering in. The bed was decent. Linens were clean.... More

We are always concerned when we fail to meet the needs of our guests. Normally my partner and I or one of our staff greet each guest at the time of arrival and give them a tour of the bed & breakfast. Occasionally we need to have the guest enter by key code if they arrive when we are away... More

We stayed in the Victorian Apartment which has its own kitchen and dining area and washing machine and dryer. The apartment is in the basement with pipes below the ceiling which detract a little from its ambience but it is still well furnished and very spacious and comfortable.. The positives about this room are the amenities and that it has... More

We appreciate your comments. Each of our rooms is unique and has its own combination of attributes. The Victorian Apartment is large with a dining table and kitchenette. It is the only room that can accommodate more than 2 guests if desired. Also, children under age 10 can stay in the Victorian Apartment since sound is not an issue. The... More
