Very fun lodging in this elegant old Victorian/Craftsman home, complete with antique furnishings, photos and accessories. I stayed in the Starina Room which had a more masculine in feel, but I liked the amount of natural lighting and it was cool and quiet. What really made the stay were owners Steve and Dusty and their wonderful and very responsive staff;... More

I stayed in the beautiful "Lavonna Room". When I wasn't out seeing the sights I relaxed and enjoyed the view from my turret windows. Steve, Dusty and staff were most gracious. I will fondly remember the people I met at breakfasts. We had amazing conversations to match the amazing food we were served. Special diets were accommodated with great style.

We fully recommend this delightful place....a real fantisy lived out. Dusty and Steve are amazing hosts. The room and the house are unbelieveably complete Victorian home. The breakfast homemade and wonderful. New friends were made in other guests. The neighborhood great for walks. Come and enjoy...save your money for the investment in beautiful place and experience.

We stayed in the beautiful Escapade room with its own private bath. For those who are fans of the TV series "Grimm"... this room was featured (should I say 'creatured?') in episode 3 of season 1. However we neither saw nor heard any spooks during our stay. We had a delightful breakfast with 8 other guests from around the USA.

Thanks for taking the time to write. Just for the record, we were Season 1, Episode 4 "Lonely Hearts" on the Grimm T.V. series. N.B.C. took over the B&B for 10 days. On the busiest days - the "shoot" days - there were over 100 people on site. Guests can watch our 20 minutes of the episode on our guest... More

We were shifted over to the Lion & the Rose when our original B & B could not accommodate us. We were delighted with the rooms and service we received on our three night stay. The owners were gracious and helpful, the staff ready to help us in any way they could. Our rooms were clean and beautifully decorated in... More

Go there. You won't be sorry. Great staff, breakfast, tea selection and ambiance. The Avandel room has its own private bathroom down the hall with a great view. The sheets were fantastic and I ordered a set for home.

Close to shops and Trailblazers arena. Nice folks and a very luxury location. Staying there next visit as well. It is walking distance to the arena and there is a mall and many things to do. Centrally located you can walk to lots of places to eat.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lion and the Rose. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the Max train and is located in an area with a lot of great restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the open kitchen with fruit, cereal, and alkaline water. The treat table and jelly beans also added really nice touch. The inn keepers Dusty... More

Lion and the Rose is one of the best B & B experiences we have ever had. The house and rooms are decorated with great attention to detail with many upgrades I haven't seen in other B & Bs such as Sleep Number beds and Comphy Company sheets. Breakfast was wonderful with vegetable frittata and lamb sausage served one morning... More

My second time staying here--with plans to return with family in June. Lion & Rose is the grand dame of NE Portland, a great old house (ca. 1908) decorated in an over-the-top, comfortable Victorian style. Luxury linens, luxury baths, warm reception, great location (walk to coffee shops, restaurants, spa, grocery, even a nearby mall). Besides a delicious breakfast, the kitchen... More

Thanks for taking the time to write. We also enjoy all the shops and restaurants we can walk to. When we finish checking in guests we can walk to the Lloyd Center 10 theaters to catch a film or be downtown in 15 minutes. More
