Stayed one night at this great B & B wish it had been longer. Our hosts were wonderful and extremely organized. They had maps for just about everywhere you wanted to go. The room was great with a lovely bathroom. Nice to have body wash shampoo etc readily available. The kitchen was open with hot and cold beverages available 24/7... More

Spent one night in Portland here and fell in love! What a great B&B! Everything was perfect! Tea was available any time as well as cookies for a relaxing treat in the garden.they took care of my dietary restrictions without fail! Pleasant stay and cannot wait to plan another trip to Portland!

My husband and i recently stayed here from May 14 - 23. We stayed in the Escapade and the Starina Rooms. We were in two different rooms because when making the reservation for so many nights, it was recommended that we stay in those rooms instead of a much smller room that was available for the entire time. While both... More

The Lion and the Rose B & B appears to be a labor of love. The decor is firmly Victorian, but not so fussy that one crashes into furniture on the way to breakfast, which is, by the way, very good. There is lots of information about house, which was built by a prosperous brewer, and maps and guidebooks for... More

We spent two nights in the Rose Room on the main floor, which had two appealing features over some of the other rooms. One is the bathtub, which is something I enjoy for a relaxing soak at the end of a busy day. The other is the quiet nights in this room. Our friends staying upstairs in a lovely bright... More

our room was front and center on the second floor. It was very noisy, as you are right close to the street with Broadway one block away. Garbage trucks started at 4 a.m. And many sirens and people leaving from the bars at 2 a.m. The rooms are lovely, but lighted from the outside lights on the house until 11... More

This is a wonderful B and B from beginning to end. First, reserving online is easy. Rooms are true to description. I stayed in the Rose Room on the first floor which provides easy access to the kitchen, parlour and front door. Don't worry, it's quiet, too. The innkeeper, Dusty and Steve run a great, honest business. You are greeted... More

We loved the Victorian home nicely restored. The decor, food and service were excellent. The hosts were friendly without being intrusive. Extremely helpful for those unfamiliar with Portland; lots of great maps, recommendations and ideas of things to do. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend for those who want a good launching point into the city.

We stayed overnight at the Lion & Rose. We really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and having dinner at a local Cafe. Its in a wonderful neighborhood and it's really pleasant walking around and looking at all the other beautiful homes. We stayed on the lower level because there were three in our party: me and my husband and our... More

We stayed a weekend in the Escapade Room... the room was ever-so-quaint and comfortable! Dusty and Steve are such wonderful hosts and the breakfast in the morning was superb! We especially enjoyed the ambiance and Victorian themes throughout the house. We also got a brief history of the residence which we enjoyed. So many resources throughout of where to visit... More
