My husband and I spent two comforting nights in this marvelous Victorian B & B. From our initial arrival to a fond farewell, we felt our every need and want attended to. The Rose Room was just delightful, the food divine and we slept very well! We look forward to another Portland visit. more

A delightful dip into the the Victorian era. A truly fabulous mansion that still holds the charm and elegance of another century. Stayed in a lovely room with modern covenience amidst the Victorian decor. Enjoyed the convenience of the open kitchen and felt very comfortable and welcome using the living room and parlour to flip through magazines and have a... more

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here and look forward to coming back since we did not see as much of Portland as we wanted. First of all, this inn is well located, near public transportation but in a wonderful, tree lined old neighborhood with ample parking nearby. We never had to go even a block away to find... more

We stayed in the newly opened basement apartment which was perfect for our family of 4. The apartment offers 2 queen beds, a kitchen and a small dining room with a table. The linens, towels, comforters, etc. were top quality. My husband and I had a separate room with a door, and offered a sink. Our kids stayed in the... more

Noisy location, no parking, never again. Saw it was rated #1 so I thought we'd give it a chance - but I have no idea how it could get a #1 rating - no way !! Cute house from the outside, dark and museum-esque on the inside with over the top fake Victorian decor, fake antiques, silk flowers and porcelain... more

These guys really know how to run a B&B. The house itself is a stunning Queen Anne in nearly mint condition. The breakfasts are the best I've ever had at a B&B. They handled my wife's food allergies carefully, thoroughly, and politely. The place is very well organized. They provide superb information about the city and the neighborhood. Really the... more

My husband and I had such a nice time at this lovely bed and breakfast. The owners were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the home and of the area. We were impressed by the attention to detail, not only in the cleanliness and decor of the home and rooms, but to customer satisfaciion and personal relations... more

The B&B was great but the street traffic went far into the night with loud stereos blaring. Hard to relax and sleep. Also, owners shared many problems with construciton in the basement and city planners in zoning, etc. that I did not need to hear at breakfast with other guests. I was there to relax and enjoy. more

This immaculately clean B&B is in fantastic area...one block away from nunerous restaurants and shops, and a few blocks away from the largest mall in the state. The location is key, because it is a short walk away from Portland's "subway" called the MAX. Park your car at the Lion & the Rose (free, on-street parking) and ride the MAX... more

This is a beautifully restored mansion with thoughtful innkeepers. All the nice touches are there--delicious breakfast, available snacks, high quality linens, magazines, books, and newspapers to read, high speed internet, good lighting to read by. Each room is decorated well and offers space and comfort. It's our second stay there and we would stay there again. more
