The best bar I ever been!!! A lot of restaurants and bars inside, even pool. Good food and very nice staff. Smoking rooms, games everything for good price. And also cheap rooms for those who got drunk and prefer to stay, 'cause you will

We did a one-night stay before traveling out of the airport. Like the other McMenamin property we visited, Edgefield, this was a really neat adaptation of an old building (in this case an elementary school) to a brewpub/restaurant/hotel. The classrooms double as the hotel rooms, with plenty of chalkboards to indulge your creativity. The ambiance was pretty amazing, and what... More

Fun, funky, unique... Kennedy School IS a must when you visit Portland! The attentiveness to detail permeates the entire experience, from the artsy venue to the genuinely friendly service (our regards to Kimberly, the lovely diva at the front desk!). We spent one night and made sure to conduct a thorough exploration of the place: the brief soak in the... More

Super fun old school house turned hotel, breweries and restaurants inside. Blackboards in the rooms, vintage decor in rooms, artsy vibe. Very friendly staff. Fun to visit with the kids but would be more fun on a trip for two or with a bunch of friends, especially if you like to drink beer. Probably wouldn't stay there again with my... More

First time staying at a McMenimins hotel. Very impressed. Great customer service. I mentioned it was hubbys birthday while making reservation and a card and beer welcomed us to our room. Very nice touch. Soaking pool was very relaxing. Although earlier in day there was several kids splashing around. We stayed in English wing after reading main rooms were too... More

This is a very neat hotel in an old elementary school. Each of the old classrooms has been turned into a hotel room, and there is an additional building behind the old school with more rooms. The original school rooms are very spacious and well furnished. The other building has smaller rooms that are also nicely furnished. The main attraction... More

There is always plenty to do. Boiler room is one of the coolest pubs ive been to. Pretty sure the school is haunted and some of the paintings are creepy, but it adds to the fun. Gift shop is awesome. And free coffee every morning is great.

We live just a few blocks away and have spent many evenings here at the theater and the soaking pool, but we needed a place to crash for the night while our insulation was being replaced. AND we needed to bring our kitten! Kennedy school ended up being a great option. As a guest you are treated wonderfully by the... More

Great place if you want something different, great idea to convert this school into a hotel/ brewery 😄 I absolutely love the boiler room bar. It's definitely a unique place! They also have a movie theater a couple of restaurants and small bars. And the rates are very affordable . $150 per night

This was our second stay at this location. We were placed in the English wing which meant a quieter room. We had a great breakfast. Our only disappointment was that the salt water pool was closed for cleaning. I love the nightly big screen movies, but we've yet to take the time to see one.
