Our decision to stay at the Hotel Fifty was largely determined by an excellent online rate we got, possibly because of the construction that was going on in the hotel during our stay. On the plus side, the construction never affected our sleep or anything else, and there was free wireless Internet. On the negative side, the room was a... more

The website showed a beautiful lobby & restaurant/bar without mentioning that none of it exists yet - it's all under construction. Fine, at least the room was nice, but when I went to take a shower, black chunks spewed out. I never did get any hot water. The room was almost $200 & I couldn't take a hot shower! The... more

Hotel 50 should not be currently opened. We arrived mid-week completely unaware that it was under renovation. This is not noted on their website, nor were we told in an email we received several days prior to our visit. In fact, you aren't even told when you arrive at the front desk! But once you ascend in the elevator, the... more

NOT RECOMMENDED. We reserved a balcony, riverview, 2 bed room - we received a partial riverview, no balcony, 1 king room w/rollaway bed, making our room wall to wall bed. When we asked about this, we were told we had the very last room available due to the renovation of the hotel, but we could take a look at what... more

Hotel Fifty is in the midst of a facelift. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms. Comfortable and clean, excellent set-up for the money. Near a MAX stop. Due to the renovations, a few things stood out. The exercise center was closed, and snack/ice/soda machines were being shifted. The hotel had about half the rooms being worked on, so... more

Other reviewers have been pretty much on the money about this place: it looks like a pretty generic low-midrange hotel, but many details have been upgraded. I don't think it really says "boutique," but it's better than your average Best Western. Here's what I liked: Soft down pillows, decent bed linens, free (plug-in) internet, very friendly staff, very clean all... more

I stayed here when it was the Four Points and I liked this place. I stayed here recently after the name change and it still was fine. There is some construction going on (which did not affect my stay) and a computer screen at the front desk with photos of what the place is going to look like shows what... more

This is a great location, and we were very happy with our stay here. Even though the single room was on the small side, it was cozy. The fitness room is excellent. We would certainly stay there again. more

When W Hotels first came on to the scene, they were pretty revolutionary. The idea of combining "cool" with "nice hotel" hadn't really been done well before. After The W came a slew of visionaries with cool ideas for hotels, and the idea really caught on. Portland has a few good ones itself, Hotel Jupiter comes immediately to mind. Unfortunately,... more
