Stayed here a few days ago (over the Memorial Day weekend, and on the whole, had a good experience. The good: location (I won't repeat it three times, but I could, because it is very good...and also, you know what they say in real estate), the fresh Grand Central Bakery bread and fruit for breakfast (the made to order eggs... This is a freshly updated hotel in a grand old hotel building. Although it is family friendly it offers a sense of graciousness which is appealing to adults. For example, the color scheme is contemporary with comfortable and attractive furnishings. Breakfasts are generous with offerings that include yet go beyond pancakes, cereals, fruits to cut-your-own slice of Artisan bread to... More

Not only is this a beautiful old building beautifully restored, but also the staff is amazing. We got to know several of them by name--always cheerful, friendly and helpful. Truly "people people" We'll most certainly stay here again.

Have stayed here a few times visiting our son. It's downtown and right around the corner from Voodo donuts. Has a good restaurant and free breakfast on the lower level. Overall a good embassy Suites. Try the daily markets in diff. areas of Portland. If you get a chance try Scratch Meats sausages. Love these little markets.

I've stayed at my share of Embassy Suites - always clean and no-frills, so I was completely surprised when I was greeted by a bell man who opened the door for me into the downtown Portland hotel. I felt like I had walked back in time and into a place of grandeur - the expansive lobby had sky-high ornate ceilings... More

We chose the ES Downtown as we wanted a large room with a separate bedroom as we were travelingvwith a young child and it was perfect. The breakfast was amazing as well. Very clean and quiet hotel. However, it was in an older neighborhood and not really in the heart of downtown. It's a bit of a sketchy area. Avoid... More

Friendly, considerate staff at desk and housekeeping. Room had great views of city - even saw Voodoo Doughnuts from our corner suite window. Nice spacious suite updated in this unique hotel. Walking distance to sites, historic food trucks, restaurants and stores. Concierge staff very helpful in making suggestions, marking routes, etc. Although we usually stay at b&bs (for uniqueness and... More

Recently I took a week long trip to Oregon and Northern California. We started the trip with a stay at this fantastic downtown location and finished it here before we left. The hotel is in a really great spot that is extremely close to the river where the Portland Saturday Market is located (which was GREAT), as well as, popular... More

The Embassy Suites was highly recommended by friends, and we were really glad we listened. The hotel is one of a kind...the kind you dont see anymore! Old world elegance, yet very up to date in its facilities, with a very professional and charming front desk staff. We were there one night in a two bedroom/two bath suite... we had loads... More
