Worst experience for us among upscale hotels we stayed lately. Staff at front desk were unfriendly (and looked at other directions when answering my questions). When we found out there's a huge and noisy outdoor AC unit right outside our room, front desk gave us another room yet commented "this is the last one we have, and I don't know... more

A reasonable price, but not the best choice. Parking is difficult (valet for $$$), the location is at the margin of downtown. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was not very nice - almost adversarial - I felt they considered that we "customers" were bothering them... The room/suite was fine, but exceptionally noisy (even though requested "quiet" placement) both from interior... more

I really love old style hotels like this - many beautiful antiques, spacious lobby, awesome bar, and a very high ceiling when you walk in that is grandiose. However, I was placed in a room that did not honor my request (I'm Gold with Hilton), and I can always handle that, but the noise outside my window with nearby bars... more

My husband and I stayed at the Embassy Suites for four nights on a visit to the Pacific Northwest. Almost immediately upon our arrival, a bellman and valet came out to the car to retrieve luggage and to park the car. Both the valet and self parking are pricey, so we parked on the street for $1.75 courtesy of a... more

Embassy Suites Downtown is in a great location -- close to the Saturday Market, downtown shops. The hotel is clean. Suites are large. However, the queen/full beds in the rooms are small. If you are sharing a bed, be prepared to sleep very close to your bedmate. Street parking is free from about 9pm (?) to 8am. On weekend nights,... more

We had booked this hotel over the internet with a confirmed booking (they had our credit card details), and they had emailed through that we had a guaranteed late check-in. We arrived at 6.10pm, after a three hour drive, and were told that they had given our room away, and had no other rooms to offer us. They claimed that... more

Overall we had a nice stay. It is an older hotel with beautiful architecture within the lobby area. It is centrally located close to great shops, museums and restaurants. We had a great room that had a nice view (Rm 737). Hotel had great service when needed and everyone was friendly. The downside is that the pool was closed the... more

The Hotel is looks great, the rooms are nice and spacious. Hotel offers a free happy hour which is nice. the one thing keeping me from recommending the Hotel is the Internet Service. First off it is $9.95 per 24 hours and the "free" internet on the computers in the lobby is slow and blocks almost every website. If you... more

It has old world charm without a huge price tag. The rooms are clean, newly refurbished and quiet. The location is good, plenty of good places to eat nearby. I travel to Portland fairly often and I plan on staying here again. The breakfast is free and good and has lots of variety. The staff is friendly and helpful. more

This is a great hotel, with great service and great location. The hotel is within walking distance of a lot of many great place to eat. The rooms are very spacious and have all of the amenities you expect from an Embassy Suites hotel. Couple of negatives: pay-for-internet service; and pay for parking. The free drinks and breakfast were very... more
