This a very good value that feels a bit luxurious. It had everything that I needed, very responsive staff, nice restaurant and excellent location for downtown Portland. The big plus though was the interior courtyard space so that your had a great outdoor space withing the hotel unlike so many hotels where your choice is to be in your room,... more

We drove down from Seattle on a Saturday morning and checked into the stylish Hotel Modera. Right away we were blown away by the modern, stylish decor, the genuinely helpful staff and the bottle of wine and hand-written welcome letter waiting for us in our room. Check out the sleek restaurant on the first floor, great ambiance, outdoor courtyard w/... more

Spent one night there last week. Had purchased the Modera package for $149 so it included some extras (like valet parking). Likely would have not parked there but used miles to book the trip so included it. Room was smallish but we weren't there to spend time in the room. 5th floor looking north. There was a bottle of wine... more

A totally restyled former Days Inn is comfortably at home within the Small Luxury Hotels Group without the price. Book online for great deals. Beautiful design executed with exquisite materials staffed with genuinely friendly knowledgeable staff in a great location. What more could you want or need? This very picky traveler was favorably impressed. more

My wife and I had an excellent stay at the Modera. At $109 + tax on Travelocity it was great value for money. The room was not huge but it was fresh and well-equipped. We were a block and a bit from the streetcar and close to some excellent restaurants. The staff were upbeat and quite helpful. At one point... more

All day long I kept inquiring why my room wasn't cleaned (like 10Am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm) -- was told they had people arriving who needed to check in, and that was their priority. Never was I told anything else than that "they would get to me as soon as they could". Aargh. Later, after my return home, I called... more

My assistant booked me at The Hotel Modera, downtown Portland, as I have her try to find me a good value. The price was right, but i was blown away by the friendly, cool vibe (not overdone) and new decor, and large screen plasma. I have returned a number of times, always impressed. Now the restraraunt is open, also exceed... more

My husband and I don't normally go for luxury hotels, but for this special anniversary, we decided to try Hotel Modera because we'd heard great things about it--and they were all true. The staff was thoughtful and attentive without being in your face. The decor is understated and attractive, with many artfully done photographs of local scenes, as well as... more

Although we live not far from downtown Portland, we occasionally like to book a room at a nice hotel downtown for a romantic date night. We have stayed in several other downtown hotels, and the location, service, and dining at Hotel Modera were superior. We booked a courtyard view room rather than a street-side room to avoid excessive noise. The... more

Took a family trip to Portland for the weekend ( children age 1 and 3) and enjoyed a very friendly, comfortable stay at Hotel Modera. The staff were great and very helpful with unloading, directions, and generally making us feel well taken care of. Room wasn't huge, but was extremely well appointed and had all kinds of little stylish extras... more
