One thin blanket with a huge hole in it, Cold room, Internet not working, traffic noise, shoddy steps and furnishings, no plug for bath. Breakfast- horrid packaged pastries one might find in a vending machine. Pretty bad. On the plus side, the maid did a great job , it seemed very clean and the location is great for walking to... I was expecting a better stay. Staff were friendly, the rooms were pretty clean, but the beds were really uncomfortable and the curtains didn't block the light. A few improvements would make this the best place ever to stay. Dang it!

Staying at this hotel was the most terrible experience ever! Our company was paying for the hotel room and they did not have email, only a very archaic fax machine. The owner was very rude and said that everyone had to wait outside until the fax came through and they kept asking for tweaks to be made to the authorization... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night in late November. Just a quick trip to see a concert in downtown Portland. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a room we wouldn't spend much time in so chose this place based on decent reviews. We weren't disappointed. Quick check-in, friendly front desk staff, clean and spacious room,... More

This place has not changed since last here. Great fast check in, Very large and well appointed room. The Price is right. Have not changed my mind on this place. Can recommend this place for an overnight stay.

We were on a follow-our-nose road trip from Berkeley to Seattle and did not have hotel reservations made ahead. The downtown Portland hotels were either sold out or very expensive. At first, we feared what we had gotten into with the Econo Lodge. However, the room was not shabby. It was clean. All of the fixtures were in good working... More

Look, it's an Econolodge! The rooms were spacious, the bathroom and shower decent size. The king bed was comfortable along with the pillows. The hotel is a bit dated but it's clean with your expected amenities. The carpet in our room definitely is aged but the room was without any offending odors. The plus for this hotel is it's location... More

Pretty much what we expected for the price. Room was fairly clean and big enough for two people. There was definitely a strong and distinct cumin/curry smell in the room that we couldn't seem to shake. But that might have been from another room below us cooking dinner or eating Indian food.

Attended a conference in Portland last week and wanted a hotel near the convention center, with breakfast, that fit my budget. I wasn't expecting luxury for my 4 nights at the Econo Lodge, but good grief. The lobby is large enough for one person and their luggage. The "breakfast" is set up in a corner of the lobby--pot of coffee,... More
