Spent 4 nights on a recent trip to Portland. The hotel has one elevator operating and it's a nightmare trying to get to upper floors, this same elevator is used by hotel maintenance and other staff. There is no swimming pool, the hallway carpets are filthy and worn. The entire place needs a facelift. You can hear trains rumbling all... More

I felt that this hotel is quite overpriced for what it is. Other hotels in the area are about half the price - and better. Kinda rundown. No gym. Overall stay was good, but would have been better if the front desk staff were more knowledgeable about the general area. I felt like they were as unfamiliar with the area... More

The hotel was really, really run down. It seemed as if it had been partially renovated, but it was still really dumpy. The elevators were malfunctioning - one didn't even work at all. I paid $145 plus tax/night for a stay with NO BREAKFAST, and I believe I was way overcharged for the quality of the stay. The A/C in... More

I stayed here after a late flight in Portland, and didn't feel like driving to my destination 3 hours away at midnight. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a hotel at that hour, but it was extremely difficult, and I wasn't about to pay 200 a night for a La Quinta. I settled with this place... More

Maids open all emergency exit doors to try to cool off, I saw multiple people leave only good thing was nice beds once I could sleep! If my room was not pre paid by my company I would have left. So the fan and open window is their idea of ac, listen to the sound of the train and traffic... More

I travel to Portland on business once or twice a month and for the past year I have used getaroom.com with good success. The last visit July 4th & 5th was the exception. When I booked my hotel, it was listed as a Red Lion Hotel. When I arrived, there was a makeshift sign on the building that read, Portland... More

We were very disappointed. We booked it as the Red Lion, apparently they changed hands and no one even emailed us with the new hotel name. Right next to Max line and our room was at the end of the hall closest to it. AC wasn't working-super hot. Sorry I wouldn't stay there again even if it was for free.

Getting a room at the last minute anywhere in Portland on a summer weekend can be difficult so plan ahead. We were coming for a car race at Portland International Raceway which is located on the far north end of the city and we normally stay at the Red Lion, Jantzen Beach, but it was full. Given our good experiences... More

This hotel was formerly called Red Lion Hotel Convention Center but apparently they changed the name to Portland Convention Hotel a few days ago. I feel like I overpaid for this hotel. The hotel is run down and in desperate need of an upgrade or total remodel. I'm giving two stars for the friendly staff and location to public transportation.... More

The hotel, which will be remodeled in the fall, delivers quality service. The room was clean and comfortable - and the bed was outstanding. The blackout curtains allowed us to sleep later than we might when not on vacation. The staff, while knowing they would be furloughed in the fall, maintained a welcoming, caring and professional demeanor. The food in... More
