We just returned from our second stay at the Guesthouse and are as enthusiastic as we were the first time. It is located in a beautiful section of the city, close to shops, restaurants and public transportation. No need for a car because there is so much within walking distance and the train is a few blocks away. The rooms... More

I stayed at the Portland International Guesthouse for one week while attending The Floral Design Institute. I was a bit apprehensive as I'd never stayed in a guesthouse setting and wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! My room was clean and comfortable and I felt as through I was home. The hosts were very welcoming and the... More

I was in Portland for a short weekend and didn't want to splurge on an expensive hotel. Now I'm glad I didn't. The Portland International Guesthouse was wonderful! It felt like a home away from home, and the neighborhood it is in is great for a pedestrian (I didn't rent a car). It's close to the MAX red line, so... More

Neither my husband nor I had ever stayed in a guesthouse setting before. If every guesthouse was like this, I would never book a hotel again! We stayed in room 3, which is on the same floor as the kitchen and two of the bathrooms. Room 3 had multiple windows, a nice closet, comfy bed, extra blankets, and everything else... More

We had an excellent experience here. Everything was as promised on the website and well described. On our very late arrival, the parking space we had reserved was waiting for us, the door code worked on the first time, keys were waiting for us, and our room was ready. Billing was exactly as promised. Room and bathroom and common areas... More

Some friends recommended we stay here during our visit to Portland. We are really glad we did! We rented the apartment for the week, which included a kitchen, living area and a bedroom separated by french doors. The space was basic, but nice. Some observations: The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a heater and a small but nifty shower.... More

We just spent 6 days there. Only downside was that the apartment is in the basement, which had a bit of a musty smell, but not a deal breaker. One other quirk is that the AC/Heat control is in the management's room just above, so if you are too hot or cold it's a phone call (not the end of... More

My husband and I chose to forego the normal hotel and opted for a different experience. We had never stayed at a guesthouse, so we were unsure of what it would be like. It was great! Yes, you do sacrifice some of the niceties and extras that you get with a hotel, like your own bathroom, brand new furnitur, and... More

Three of us stayed during a trip to the Northwest, and the accommodations were great. Even the twin single bed was comfortable! The neighborhood alone makes this worth staying, in walking distance of the fun Nob Hill area, and we walked downtown one night as well. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner as well and he was gracious... More

Our room was huge with two beds and although it was hot the fan was good at keeping the temperature appropriate. The whole place was very clean and comfortable - like a home away from home. We had bicycles that we could store on the balcony off the kitchen - just a short climb from the entrance. It seemed very... More
