A lovely house and a great room. We stayed for one night on our trip down the west coast of the USA and couldn't have been happier with the place. Port Orford was a great town to overnight, and the Compass Rose was wonderful. A comprehensive breakfast set us up for the day and Doug was a great host. Thank... More

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. It is just north of the town of Port Orford, Oregon down a road in a wooded private area. I pulled in and Doug the innkeeper was all ready to check me in. He is a great host. The warm fireplace going and there was also some biscotti out that Karen made. He... More

This was by far the most immaculate place we have ever stayed in. Doug went out of his way to make us feel at home, cooked us delicious breakfasts, and was extremely informative in regards to the area. You would never just stumble upon this place, so get good directions and book this bed and breakfast. It was definitely a... More

We booked short notice and we're pleasantly surprised with the accommodation and location of Compass Rose. The property is tucked away on the north side of town, it's immaculate, has its own trails and is also a very short walk to beach access. Perfect for a sunset walk. While we didn't have the pleasure to meet Karen, Doug is the... More

Thank you so much for your review. I, too, am sorry that we did not get to meet, but I work in the local hospital, and do not have time to meet every guest here. So glad that you enjoyed your stay! Please do come back if you are in the area. Sincerely, Karen Hansen More

So many great things about this place. It was very clean as if no one had ever stayed in the room or bathroom before. The breakfast that was prepare din house by Doug was delicious and enjoyable. Him and his wife made great use of recently harvested, local cranberries in jam and scones. The grounds have deer, rabbits, birds, etc.... More

A great comfortable home built by B&B owners in perfect setting providing all you could ask for of a B&B. Host was gracious and helpful in planning our day. Breakfast was delicious and lavish. Room clean and bed comfortable. The surrounding woods and convenient location to an interesting small town and a fantastic Lighthouse left us wishing to stay longer.... More

We were the only guests in this beautiful home for one night, so we were offered a free upgrade to a room with a lovely view. The home is spacious, immaculate and quiet. The place is beautiful. The furniture in some cases is not my taste, the TVs are small and I hated the soap dispenser. All of that said my stay was amazing. I didn't get to explore the hiking paths, but my husband said they were enjoyably in touch with nature. I liked the view of the lake, the deer that... More

We stayed for only one night in the Nantucket room. The whole B&B was spotlessly clean and neat. It is all thoughtfully furnished with a huge range of books and DVDs to enjoy - but the TV screen in the room is quite small. The surroundings are wonderful and we had a picturesque view of the lake from our window.... More

Thank you so much for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, and will take your comment on the television seriously.
