I stayed at the Rugged Country Lodge for three nights and was very pleased. It's a great base from which to explore the many charms of the Pendleton region, including the fascinating Pendleton Underground Tour and the nearby Native American-created and run Tamatslik Interpretive Center. The motel is very clean and the cozy rooms are nicely decorated and cheerful. I... More

The price is scary...$60 for two queen beds? What is the catch? The catch is no fitness room, no pool & no fancy neighborhood. We got a well appointed room (always ask for two queen beds, the single bed rooms are a bit cramped). The breakfast was excellent..once you realize there is a refrigerator with extra goodies. Yes, the view... More

We arrived very late and had to call the after hours number posted on the office door. The gal we spoke to on the phone was very pleasant. She came out to check us in and wasn't annoyed at all at the lateness of the hour. We were very pleased with the rooms, very clean and attractively decorated. Best value... More

We were very impressed by the website verbiage and positive testimonials. It never occurred to us that they probably would hide the negative reviews...and there should be a lot of them.!!!!! First, even though the website boasts an update in the hotel, the only thing updated is some of the furniture and the tile in the bathrooms. There is still... More

My husband and I stayed here during a cross-country road trip. The staff were friendly when we checked in. Our room was located on the bottom floor. It was an attractive, clean, and quiet space with a bed that we found quite comfortable (not too hard like many hotels). It was an excellent value for what we paid for the... More

Stayed back in May and was pleased with the accommodations. They did serve a complimentary breakfast however we did not partake. If you are going to stay here call in your reservation vs. doing it online. You will get a cheaper rate. We will cime back.

Dirtiest carpets I have ever seen. Bathtub drain has not been cleaned in months so water would not drain and also sink drain was not working. I was in room 8 and my mother was in room 6 we both had the same experience. Would not stay there again.

We were road weary and tired. Found this place by mistake. When she quoted the price I asked to see the room not knowing what to expect. Surprised and happy we stayed in a very nice room for under $50(AAA) and a breakfast as well. Except for a worn carpeting, it was sparkling clean, cozy, and the bed was the... More

An unbelievably terrible experience. Called 3 hours ahead of time, from the road, to reserve a room. Was quoted $54, per the website, then dropped to $40 for AAA discount. They took my name, but no phone number or credit card, though I offered both to hold the room as we were arriving after 9:00 pm. When we arrived, the... More

Since 1996 we have been stopping in Pendleton, between moves from Northern Utah or SE Idaho to Portland, OR or Astoria. We found this cozy place on the main route through town, and have stayed here since when passing through. Their rates are great, the rooms are large, and very cozy. I will always keep them in mind when I... More
