comfortable room, no complaints, nice balcony overlooking Nye Beach (but it was fogged in most of our time there). Crashing ocean waves blocked out any noise, which we liked, but might be too much for others. free popcorn in lobby!

The Whaler has balcony rooms with awesome views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. Continental breakfast was sufficient and staff was quiet and unobtrusive. We will definitely stay here again and again. Room prices were very good. Our room was an end room on the third floor so we had a view of the lighthouse also. If... More

We had reservations for the hotel down the street but arrived a day earlier. We checked into the whaler and had a room on the ground floor beside the main office. It had a nice little view if the ocean, comfy and clean rooms and a good continental breakfast and popcorn :) the price was the same as we were... More

We really liked our one-night stay here mainly b/o the ocean view from our 2nd floor. The location was great but most of the price paid was for the view. Otherwise this is another national budget chain. Except that there is a street between the hotel and the beach , this is as close as you can get to the... More

Unit 114 was plain, functional, clean and comfortable. Great beds for a 2 family get together. 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, kitchen, living room with very comfy furniture. The exterior is plain and weather worn being right on the beach. Inside is warm, quiet and cozy. Our grand kids had a great time. Comes with access to hotel pool and continental... More

This is the second time we have stayed at The Whaler. The hotel sits right across the street from the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are nice but a little tired; it wouldn't take a lot to update them. The bathroom could use updating as well but it wasn't terrible, just needs newer looking accents and paint. The room was very... More

Very nice place! Location was perfect. Close to restaurants and shopping, and literally right across the street from the beach. We would open the sliding glass door to the private balcony and be lulled to sleep to the sounds of the ocean. Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Price was one of the most affordable beach accommodations... More

We went for just the night so that we could get up in the morning and spend the day doing all the activities. When I booked the room online, it looked and sounded like a very fancy hotel that is on the beach. When we got there, it looked very run down, small and not fancy at all. In fact... More

The room was very clean and comfortable. The check-in staff was efficient and helpful. We were on the 2nd floor and I did not hear noise from other rooms. The room faces the ocean with a balcony. I liked how the bed is against the wall that looks out...it was hie sitting in bed and being able to just stare... More

Pool and spa and work out with BARE basic breakfast foods across the street from the beach trail. Nice private patio. Our room had no microwave but mini fridge and tv very slow internet but basic cable. Nothing special but serves the purpose.
