We spent 2 nights at the Belle at the beginning of June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome, accommodation and breakfasts were tremendous. We would love to go back. more
It was disturbing that one of the innkeepers felt so free to trash her previous guests and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Michael was wonderful and kind. more
We like staying in quirky places which is why we went with the Newport Belle. I wish I could say that we liked it more, but we just didn't. But first the positives. I had made a mistake in booking and had actually booked the wrong day, but Michael was very gracious in accomodating us on the day we arrived... more
Just wish we could have stayed more than one night. Very friendly innkeepers who truely love what they are doing. They are familar with the immediate area--things to do, places to eat, etc. Their menu book could be better organized. All the comforts of home--staterooms are very spacious. Great breakfast in the morning. more
As others have said, this is a really unique place to stay. It is an acutal boat with quarters. The one thing we noticed was the attention to detail! Before you even knew you wanted something they were offering it to you! In your room, you would find candies, bottled water, coffee makers, and the best of all - socks... more
We stayed on the Newport Belle for two nights and it was fantastic. Michael and Nancy are fantastic hosts and really know how to judge their relationship with guests. If you want to be private they will leave you to hide away however if you want to sit and talk they are very happy to do that too. We stayed... more
Nancy & Michael have thought of many things to make your stay on their boat a pleasure. Just under the bridge in Newport you can enjoy all the sights of town, fisherman, water, etc. while sipping wine or enjoying their wonderful breakfast. The rooms are very confortable, adequate size and there is no motion to the boat. Wish we had... more
The Newport Belle is a riverboat that is docked not too far from the old city of Newport. The owners live on the top floor, while the middle floor is a common area and the lower floor houses guests. The boat is in great shape as are the rooms. Of course, this being a boat, the rooms aren't as spacious... more
My husband and I were travelling from Canada with family visiting fom the UK; they were most surprised to discover that they were staying on a paddle boat but even more surprised by the lovely accomodaions, comfy beds, great food and wonderful hosts. Room sizes are larger than expeced and well decorated with an en suite in every room. We... more
How can you go wrong with that combination? The boat (or is it ship?) serves as a great B and B. Forget the cramped quarters you associate with a cruise ship. The Innkeepers are very nice and you get the added bonuses of their dogs greeting you? Rooms are adquately sized, clean, and the breakfast was spectacular. Newport is also... more
